Description A conceptual vision of universal 'heat-death' - not, as I originally took it to mean, death by heat, rather the death of heat. Whole galaxies sit suspended for eternity in icy skeins, testament to an age that only was. Even entropy is spent.

The curious rime effect is obtained by use of a small filter radius (0.1) coupled with large master scale (100) and suitable gradient.

mmm love the texture and the gradient. Gave me the shivers when I first saw the layered stalactitic, amoebic anomaly

(yup big words in my vocab today I'm feeling edumacted)

Roflmao. Right before I read your description, I was staring at this piece, thinking, "Frozen. Icy? No, it's not cold, it's just the absence of heat. Layers. There are so many layers."

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

IDeviant In reply to Kimete [2007-11-27 10:42:00 +0000 UTC]

Surprisingly, this program doesn't have layering capabilities - all layers must be generated within a single layer This apparent paradox works due to the essential transparency of the structure: like matter, it isn't really there, just an illusion. So sometimes, one may see through

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Kimete In reply to IDeviant [2007-11-27 18:30:23 +0000 UTC]

>> Oh, no. I didn't mean layers in the piece, more like layers of thoughts.

But yes, seeing through...

"Melancholic" is such a good word here, and not one I'd previously considered Yes, such a sadness at the experiment of 'hysical' life ending in this way, yet carrying its own aesthetic for posterity...

I don't even know how to explain how incredibly impressive it is that you've managed to mimic the features of frozen water.

To my mind its equivalent to a master painter producing a photo realistic portrait. A job very well done my friend
