Description
WAIT GUYS HOW DO YOU ADD THAT NICE CUSTOM THUMBNAIL PIC??Whew finally finished.
Well this is the tutorial that I said I'll do all the way back in January. It covers basically how I color the face and hair.
Well I put a lot of work and thought into this, and hopefully those who asked will find it useful. If you are a beginner, you might want to read this as well:[link]
It's the tutorial that I first learned how to CG from
For those of you read it, I'm curious as to what you think so please leave a comment if its not too much trouble.
I feel that I haven't explained some of the steps very clearly so if you have any questions, I'd be happy to answer them here.

Gorgeous tutorial, thank you very much.
Just a quick question, though, what size Wacom tablet do you use and/or what would you recommend? I'm looking into getting one myself.

I found this tutorial this morning while I was at school and I have been literally looking at it all day. I am about to try to use this technique and will enclose the URL of the result when it is complete, just for interest's sake.

Wow, this is so much help! This is such a great tutorial.
Even before I got a tablet, when I read this months ago, I was able to color so much better (not near your level, but still).
I still refer to it when I'm stuck on something.

Digital Painting. Nice. Always looks good with CG Manga. Gel shading is nice, but this is quality.
Yay.

I'm not sure wether someone's asked you this before, but I was wondering if perhaps you'd consider making a tutorial for lips. This one is awesome, but as you pointed out, you skipped over lips, so now my pics look somewhat strange. XD So yeah, if you did a tutorial on CGing lips, I'm sure many people would be thankful.

*saves it to hard-drive for (much!) future reference* Thank you for taking the time to create this--your art is amazing, and I've been wondering how to properly use my Wacom tablet for awhile now, but hadn't found any really good tutorials on it...until now.
Thanks again--I'm off to try this out!

I think this is possibly the most detailed CG tutorial I've ever seen! AND it covers HTK methods (something I've been trying to find for ages since I can't figure it out too well myself xD) Anyway, it's an excellent tut. The most useful one I've found. Thanks for sharing your talents!

Whoa! I've seen your work a few times, and I just noticed this... It really helps! The best thing is the blending part, to me. I'm awful at doing that, but this seems like a much better way to do it than smudging... MUCH better. Just reading it makes me feel like I could do this, with a bit more practice! Definitely a favorite!

thank you so much for sharing this tutorial. i know i learned something. its about the liquifying technique and the blendings. i cant wait to try ur technique out. while reading ur tut, i was like "oh yeah, i never thought of it that way". I have ALOT to learn about CGs and one of them is masking. i'm taking things a step at a time. One day, i hope, i cud be good too. Like you and HTK. He's one of the best. So far. I'm really thankful for ur tutorial.
PS i had fun reading ur side notes as well.
