Description

This drawing will go for Vali's part of Frenemies prompt for this month.

Previous drawing is from Isha's perspective of the same day, so this is a scene that comes in two parts.
[First part]

It wasn't very hard for Isha to track Vali to where he was hidding, a track of dripping blood betrayed his steps until she reached a tree with a couple of big branches that Vali managed to reach so he could storage his meat and also stay out of reach but he saw Isha coming easily. At first he thought it was going to be an everyday thing, she would warn him and then chase him off- But it wasn't something he was extremly worried about. At least it was Isha, he's been fighting with her constantly since literally the day they were born.
She couldn't intimidate him.

But still he stayed on his branch, looking at her from a higher place. The poor guy felt safer that way.
"Vali what have you done to yourself" Isha whispered as she got a closer look of her brother. He had patches of plucked out feathers, probably from fights- At least she wanted to think they were from getting ito fights but probably he just did that to himself so he wouldn't have to clean his feathers, or maybe just to cope with stress and fear of being hunted down at any moment. Solitude was dangerous for animals like them, she knew, it could make you go mad.
"Vali listen to me" She inquired.

"I am listening"

"Good, you have to leave. This is our territory, and the current situation won't last. The pack is growing. It won't be long until we have to kill you for good" She spoke calmly, as she usually did when she talked to Vali but as she was talking, he just lost interest and started to scout the grass, took a bite of his stolen price... He just didn't care, it was the tale of every day, he had to leave, of course he had, but he was convinced the world wasn't that big, in fact he was convinced it wasn't bigger than that plain.

"I'm not leaving, I grew up here just as you did" Vali answered, undisturbed. "You're just waiting for the right opportunity so my death won't get heavy on your conciousness, but if that's it then you should kill me right now"

"Vali..."

"...unless you can't"

With this I close the scene! I want to give a new approach to Vali's character. Since he ran away from the pack he's been in a very ugly place mentally, thinking he must have died the day Pyre chassed him of, that maybe some kind of force kept him alive. He also never really saw more of the world than that plain, the surge and the beach and with the years his adventurous spirit got kind of rooted and now he just thinks the world might just be that, he thinks once you get up the hills in the horizont or get into the woods, the only things you can find are horrendous bloodthirsty monsters like the one he attacked in the beach when he was a kid (Lucy) and he's also convinced Pyre is somehow descendent of those monsters. He'd like to think he isn't afraid of them but actually, every night he fears the dark because of them.
Due to stress and anxiety and other problems generated by the constant hunger and the pression of being alone and constantly chased off he started to pluck off some feathers from his chest, back and legs while cleaning himself as well so he's constantly covered by patches of skin without feathers and little injuries. And after a bit of time he just convinced himself that maybe he couldn't be killed, because it made no sense in his mind that the pack hadn't killed him yet so he thought maybe they couldn't? As the feeling of betray developed in a way he's convinced none in the pack feels any sympathy for him at all.

He does considere Isha and the pack his enemies, and a bunch of traitors but he kinda thinks they're mostly brainwashed by Pyre, who he consideres the encarnation of evil and the dark.
