Description
Day 3 of my challenge, the goal is to submit a new infrared picture a day for the whole summer.Taken with my new infrared ZS6, possibly the best handling I've gotten out of any IR point and shoot, better even than the older DSLRs.

Thank you friend!
I started with infrared in the digital age, with a filter and tripod, then soon moved on to using converted cameras; my gallery is a mix of different camera systems I have tried. I do all of the conversions myself, and offer it as a service at kolarivision.com.

Hi: Sorry but I forgot to mention that after assembling the exposure brackets in HDR Efex Pro 2, Just like camera Raw, the results not even close to being a finished image like great expectations to a disappointment.
That is where I heavily lean on darkroom experience to implement, contrast as well at least exposure, tone, structure, detail all contained in the workflow pane on the right hand side of HDR Efex pro 2. All of the plug-ins have good tutorials and free webinars most are archived
Only advice, download the trial and have fun! All of the plug-ins are good for a 15 day trial, OnOne is good for 30 days.
If you're a student or faculty member an academic discount is available.Crazy not to apply for when I upgraded to exposure 4 I got 40% off, also check out retail me not cause usually only one discount applies but I used 2,lucky, and w/ the discount the shipping, back up disc, and taxes were covered also please remember same discounts apply to Adobe products, up to 80%
ilimel: I will try very hard to assemble a few of the better images for your professional opinion. Your images have a similar look ,blue sky & some slightly sepia trees much like one of Life pixel's conversions. Not sure but similar.
How much has changed, most for the better, but do as much in camera as possible cause post production can cost you dearly even though the plug-ins mentioned create, name and link the layer, the true beauty of perfection is something the true purists seek but don't try to click and clone each and every facet that nature created and left for us to reproduce and share. Just one opinion and a bit long winded.Take Care!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!Frank

Not sure how to make a wallpaper with a vertical picture, but I've allowed downloads of the original so you are free to try.

This is really beautiful and surreal.
Though, I'm failing to understand what exactly the camera is picking up that our eyes aren't (Whenever I think infrared, I think of something like this: [link] ) and how exactly does it do that? I looked through your website and didn't find any specifics on that. I'm a very curious person. c:

Thanks! When it comes to energy/light, its broken down by wavelength. Visible light covers the range of 400-700nm, a rather small range, and our brains break down the different wavelengths within that as different colors. Now our eyes can't see past that range, but a camera sensor will see pick up light form about 300nm to 1200nm, just slightly above visible. Some animals can actually see in this range normally, but to us its as invisible as radio waves. Once you start going out really far in the infrared direction, you reach thermal infrared, this we can't see but we can feel it as heat. This is in the range of 5000nm to 12000nm, quite far away from the visible range.
