Description "Okay people, 10 minutes to orbital drop. Look sharp and..."

"Sarge, we gotta play it."

"Aw hell, again? Every mission?"

"It's tradition. Special forces have been doing it since before we left Old Earth. It's bad luck not to."

"You might as well sarge, you know he'll be bellyaching about it for the rest of the drop otherwise."

*sigh* "Nobody even knows what it means any more...but what the hell...."

*CLICK!*

*~Well, long tall Sally, she's built for speed
She got everything that Uncle John need
Oh baby, yes, baby
Ooh baby, havin' me some fun tonight, yeah.....*

Not often you can work in a Pred reference.
And one that's not about a Pred.
Realy nice touch.

I love how the shine on the far right guy makes it look like he has a goofy anime style face as he's asking for the music...heh it cracks me up to think of it that way.

Love the reference Our team in Iraq and A-stan played Five Finger Death Punch, Breaking Benjamin, Korn, etc. (I was the freak playing Chieftains, Tartanic or Battlefield Band), but the concept's the same

I remember reading reports that one of the leaders from the Northern Alliance led cavalry charges on the Taliban while playing "Back in Black" from a boom box on the back of his horse.

Wouldn't surprise me, though if it were anyone other than the Afghans I'd question how they kept a radio going in such austere conditions (those guys make McGuyver look like a freakin' hobbyist). The NA guys were mostly local Afghani tribesmen, the actual Mujahedin, and fairly laid back on the Jihad-throttle whereas the Taliban were predominantly foreigners (Egyptians, Saudis, Chechnyans, etc.) who hold to a MUCH stricter interpretation of Islam that takes Sharia law to scary places. Part of that is forbidding non-religious singing or music, so AC/DC would be like cat claws on a chalkboard to those chucklenuts
