This is also interesting.Β  It's like the quill is dripping ink down the hand and the little Stickmens are using that ink to sew up the wound.Β  In a sense, it's like the process of art, or creation in general, if helping to heal you.

IllusriArt In reply to Bo-Po-Mo-Fo [2016-07-24 00:25:39 +0000 UTC]

Ahh your interpretation is similar to mine, yes indeed the ink and the stickmens, being little ink creations of the artist, are helping heal and 'recreate' the artist. Great minds think alike!

I don't know anything about minimalist art and I am more realistic art kind of a person but I have seen your art and i liked it. I think is is not easy to describe your concepts and ideas in so little and that too with style Best of luck!

"At one point I was sick of waiting for the messias and decided to save myself."
I can see it as art serving to cure yourself but with how much the hand is bleeding and how the strings and stitches look it gives the feel of this healing not being enough to properly treat the injuries.

IllusriArt In reply to DeadlyCookie98 [2016-07-22 19:33:50 +0000 UTC]

Absolutely wonderful saying, is it another one of your originals?

Perhaps not atm, but who knows~ little by little, the stitches will become more and stronger, perhaps.

Sadly no, it's a quote from "The Kangaroo Manifest"
I guess we'll see about that eventually .

Such sharp shapes... Clearly shows that creation is often a painful process when you have to completely open up to yourself - and you can never know what you will find deep inside... There may be terrifying things!

Another theory - the black people weighing the hand down could be symbols of everyday life matters - those which don't look important to artist but have the power to distract form creation. Because nobody's life is eternal and most artists all the time have more ideas than lifetime, realization that those everyday things will surely distract from art creation can be breaking.

IllusriArt In reply to Obelis [2016-07-23 13:44:43 +0000 UTC]

Ohh wow, I absolutely love this interpretation. What a wonderful way to look at it, and it's very true too. There are always more ideas for art than there is time, and that's truly a sad thing.

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

Obelis In reply to IllusriArt [2016-07-23 15:33:32 +0000 UTC]

Even if we got a second life to finish all the wanted artworks... we would just get more unfulfilled ideas during that second lifetime. This process is endless.

IllusriArt In reply to Obelis [2016-07-23 18:32:04 +0000 UTC]

I don't mind though, as the power to even come up with such wondrous Β ideas in the first place is magic itself.

This piece gives a very strong sense of perseverance even in the gravest situations. The words you added further illustrate that strong drive. That hand will not give up and it will keep reaching out to get that cure.
Very nicely done!

Corinthz [2016-07-22 02:17:04 +0000 UTC]

At first glance, I thought it may have been a scene where the Stickmens are erecting a tall tower. Then, when I recognized it as an arm, I thought it could have been a symbolic scene reminescent of "Gulliver's Travels" (I tend to interpret that as the little things weighing you down). Then I read the theme of create, and I recognized the spear-like things as needles with thread. It looked so surreal and a little scary, thinking whoever this arm was attached to is going to feel a lot of pain from all the sewing together.

For how do we define pain in drawing? A grimacing figure, a Stickmens on his knees shouting at the top of his lungs screaming "WHY?!", or perhaps a simple approach of a Stickmens being stabbed by another Stickmens through the heart, causing that heart to break? Irregardless of the answer, the only fix is to pull yourself back together, which is why sewing is a great tool to bring gaps closer so that it will mend. Sure, it will leave a scar to remember the follies made, but one will appreciate that the bleeding stop so that one can live another day.

Be thankful for being alive, be thankful that you are created to create something in return. For what is the meaning of life? At least we know the answer to the reason mankind exist, and that's to create and make a new existence out of nothingness.

Oh wow. This is one of the best comments I've ever gotten on any of my stickmens. I's say more but you said such wonderful things that I'm just sitting back, reading the comment again and again, happy to be able to have a glimpse into your thoughts - and what creative thoughts they are.Β

Really, thank you so so very much for sharing these brilliant interpretations, the last bit actually made me tear up. <3

Dark-Fenrir [2016-07-21 19:35:21 +0000 UTC]

This is a really cool piece. I really like how it's rendered and the ideas behind it. From what I can discern, the little characters are creations from the figure and are actively stitching up the persons wounds, sort of how art is often a therapeutic necessity for artist.

This is eerily fascinating! I like the concept and the little stick figures with needles are super cute, albeit creepy.Β

Your use of thin lines, having the arm appear to grow from the bottom makes for an effective and interesting composition.

I really like this piece.

Hehe thank you! I'm happy you find the tiny stickmens rather endearing, as I meant them to be so, to contrast the grisly arm they're working on.

Thanks again for your views, I really appreciate your input!
