Description
This one's very multi-layered for me - all kinds of intense, messy, jumbled up thoughts and emotions were shooting rapid-fire through me at the time.ย I tried my best to scribble them down before they slipped away, and think I captured most of the prominent ones decently enough here.
I hope it speaks for itself on different levels for you as well, dear viewer.

A person who is trying to achieve a goal that's too hard becomes a mess. Because that person has to take on various things to reach that goal, grabs a lot of negative emotions and is unable to reach it in the end.

What a dark view on this piece, I like it lots! Thank you for your comment, Obelis~ <3

Oooh! Well, the black-hole with the multitude of leering, gesticulating hands for me gives off a sense of madness lost in a great wheel of utter darkness. Whereas the tree, which I can't decide if it's covered in spiders, or bats, or a murder of crows, signifies a mass of encroaching fear.
Although on another tangent, the circular blackhole represents the insanity of repetition, just going round and round, not getting anywhere. However, the linear tree with it's various limbs branching out evokes perhaps something one might call optimism, a way with a many goals, choices, and a destination to reach.
As you can probably tell I loved this sketch.

Ahh you should be an art critic, your observations are wonderful to go through!
I really like how you interpreted the black hole, none of us would want to be dragged into an endless cycle of boredom and predictability, no. >-<

Art critic? That's a first xD No one's thought of that before for me. ^_^
Kinda reminded me of my life for a long while. A black hole of nothingness, predicability and numbness. I even ended up scribbling out a quick verse from being inspired in part by your sketch.

Aww, depression is very common unfortunately, and I'm glad that you're better now, from the sound of things.

I did have a slump in the last few days But I managed to kick myself out of it. I managed to get out a bit of a way from my hole. Not letting depression drag me back down again.

Yup A friend a while back, who I bumped into, tried to get me into this Highschool of the Dead anime. Watched five episodes worth, all I saw were buxom girls, stereotypical zombies and not much else. O_o Found this other one by chance, Koutestujuo no Kanebari or something like that.
Still I found it far more entertaining than seeing overrated animated boobage

pearwood In reply to IllusriArt [2016-05-16 18:33:04 +0000 UTC]
Shelob is full of bitterness and death, hating all that lives and breathes. The noose here suggests this is a tree of death, with the partial figure on the right being a stickman already hanging by the neck.
The many-legged creature on the left is full of energy and motion. I don't know whether it is tending it traps and webs or scrambling in a panic to get away before it, too, is caught.
Given the despair in the other drawings in the series, I assume death on both left and right.
Steve

I'd say the messy and intense emoctions and such come across really well.
Though that makes it a little more problematic for me to understan it's deeper meaning I think.

A great testament to willpower and hope.
Despite all those monstrous claws tearing into them and trying to drag them down, Stickman continues to hold on, and what i like to think is climb up the tree. I know they can reach the top!!ย
Very admirable, given that there is an easy way to get rid of all those weighty problems so close by...ย
The Stickman to the right seems to have opted for that path.
Another wonderful drawing, Rift. These really say so much, despite their simplicity.ย โกสโก

You always draw the most well-thought out conclusions, I really admire that in your comments Omen.ย
I don't know if there's a top of the tree for sure, as the tree for me represents hope and hope imo never stops growing ~ but doing your best to climb the branches while trying to avoid being pulled down into your personal black hole is a very admirable feat indeed.
I'm happy you noted the stickman on the right and his possible fate, I was afraid people might wonder what that odd-looking blob was supposed to be ehe~
I'm really REALLY happy you enjoy these doodles Omen, thank you for giving them and me some time out of your life to stop and think about. <3

Another wonderful piece! I feel like this one is more convoluted and harder to understand then the other ones. What I get from this is that people often feel like they are dangling on a branch, being weighted down by all their problems and other stuff while trying desperately not to let go. If they fall they end up being attacked by their issues. Some end up killing themselves to get away from the problems, as displayed by the noose. It's just my interpretation though. If you don't mind, I'd love to hear what your thoughts behind this piece were. Of course only if you're comfortable with that, I know these things can be personal. I hope it isn't too intrusive of me to ask ^^' Great job on this! I can't wait to see the ones to come!

IllusriArt In reply to hua04 [2016-01-24 20:15:17 +0000 UTC]
First of all, thank you for writing such an in-depth interpretation, it was a wonderful insight! <3
I love how you picked up on the noose bit - it can indeed often seem an easier 'solution' for people who are fighting to hold on to the tree (hope) as hard as they can. You're also on point with the 'issues' trying to attack them.
For me, the tree stands for hope, and the black hole is the darkness people experience in their lives, the ones that seem intent on dragging them in, swallowing them whole.ย
The noose is lower than the branches because it's an easy outlet, easier to 'hang' than 'hang on'. trying the climb the branches of 'hope' can be extremely difficult when you have your demons holding onto you so eagerly.ย

Thank you! It was my pleasure~ And I'm glad you liked it
I see, that makes a lot of sense! Hope is one of the hardest things to hold onto in life. But it's also our driving force most of the time, it keeps us going, and letting go can often lead to depression and/or suicide. Which is why we hang onto it so desperately, even with all the darkness threatening to suck them in. Thank you for sharing your thoughts with me! It was an enlightening experience c:
