Light and shadow work very well together here, and the composition is dynamic and serene at the same time! Overall, there's something romantic, yet slightly somber about the whole picture. The style reminds me a little of some early works of Danish artist - Vilhelm LundstrΓΈm - of whom you've most likely never heard. Also, I can almost hear music when I look at this; 'Madrigal par violoncello y piano' by Granados, to be exact!

Almost a household name in Denmark, but hardly anywhere else.

His work is really interesting, I've seen work like his before, I studied something similar in school, his strokes are really interesting, and the colour and bold shapes are quite fun.Β
I'm quite into romantic work atm, but I see the appeal greatly, its very yummy to look at.Β

I'd say, that I have a fairly broad taste myself - in the sense, that I'm open to new impressions. Looking back, I can get surprised about the stuff I seriously fancied years back, and wonder why I did - I must have felt something, that was later lost in personal development or something. I suppose, that's what art does; reflect who we are at a given time. Collecting art (or art books and whatever) is a sort of diary. Then of course there are the all-time favourites, that one can apparently never grow tired of (e.g. Toulouse-Lautrec in my case).

Yeah we definitely move on from one to the next, like music. You can look back and see and remember the emotions, seeing old paintings reminds me of the joy I had when I first started. Was nice C:

Yeah. Visual arts, music, literature etc. It's the same thing. Basically, everything appealing to the senses - hopefully in a good way.

I wonder how long did it take? I found painting digitally is still time consuming for me.

Right? He is such a gorgeous painter, I enjoyed studying him. Its Alexander John White, I think, but I think I get the names mixed up a lot so
