Description
This is a purely personal piece. I wanted to put how I feel with everything that's going on in a painting and well. This is what happened.ΒI'm in two minds to either say what this piece is about, or leave it to stand on it's own merit.Β
What do you think?

The painted style and the overall simplicity of the piece makes it very nice to look at. The subtle shifts in tones and nice contrast makes it so pleasing to the eye.
The emotion in the piece isn't too harsh and heavy, but clear with the snake and subtle distress/comfort in her expression and pose,
Overall a very lovely piece, the simplicity and peachy teals are some of my personal favorites so this is definitely a new favorite piece of mine!

The painting is pretty good with the contrast between the warm peach colors used on the naked lady and the bluish green cool colors used on the snake and water which dominates the entire picture.Β
One nitpick I would have to make is in regards to the lady's facial expressions as it does not, at least to me, express suffocation (or at least a feeling of drowning).Β Maybe have her head tilted upwards, eyes wide open and her hair floating upwards would definitely be a significant improvement that capitalize on the title you are going for.
Other than that, its a pretty good minimalist painting.

Heh, your comment about her expression is a little on the nose. The actual character isn't suffocating. It's more of a, representation of a certain emotion. Not a literal painting of a woman drowning. Otherwise, ofc, I would have her panicked, frantic and reaching or something. C:

I really like the way you shaded her skin, actually the whole palette looks gorgeous. This is simple yet does have a lot to share.
Great pose and anatomy. The noise filter always give that 'old painting', I personally use a lot on my works as well, it is something I really liked here, especially because the simple one color background needed texture. You nailed! It looks beautiful

I think it's creative that you blended the water with the snake. The woman in the picture feels trapped.

This is such a beautiful painting! The dark teal surroundings and the serpent contrast nicely with the woman's dusty red skin, and I like how the serpent's tail "breaks" away into the background. My own interpretation of this piece is that she is underwater, "drowning" in her anguish, suggested by the hands raised to her face as though she is shielding herself from harm that is most likely of the emotional sort. Perhaps the serpent is the embodiment of her negative thoughts that encircle and almost trap her.
Overall you did a fantastic job on this piece!

Love the smooth colors on this.Β It feels almost like a woodblock print.Β It's very gorgeous!Β I also love the stylized anatomy--again, it feels like a woodblock print.Β That very aesthetic makes it feel gentle and serene despite the moody content.
