The tower and the background looks fit together perfectly

I love it! I love how the first ray of the dawn hits the gateway. It has a really creepy and at the same time a really soothing feel to it. I was going through your gallery, your background work is awesome!

This almost looks like you took a photo of the castle's structure and drew the rest around it.

What time frame where you speed painting? an hour? couple of hours? :3

The actual painting took like.. an hour or 2 maybe? The planning took an hour or two as well

Is this a speed paint, if so this isn't bad at all.
I really like the graininess in front of the tower, it looks authentic and real, whereas the clouds or backdrop could use a little more work/tidying up.
Or is it sandstorm? I can't really tell, which is the main problem for me.
I really enjoy the parts hidden in the shadow, they look really detailed.
All by all for a speed paint I'd give this a solid 7.5/10 so keep up the great work.

Missed you around here llyaev. Good lighting and general sense of atmosphere. I like the architectural design and the composition is straightforward but effective.
For critique I will say that I wish the sky was either more saturated red (to make it more obviously monotone) or blue/green because right now the gray sky is making it look unfinished to me for some reason as if the gray is just your canvas background. In addition, the clouds"pointing" at the building is a bit too obvious and unnatural. Maybe they could still point to the building in some way while also allowing more negative space around the focus of the piece for greater depth. I understand this is a speed painting, though.
