I feel so proud of myself. My first tutorial ever! I hope this helps you guys learn more about pencil crayons!

This tutorial is exactly what I had been looking for. I don't have much in way of digital art capabilities, and much prefer using my pencil crayons. So thank you, thank you, thank you!

th-thank you TuT i only have colored pencils and pencils to work with, but I never knew how to shade in and where the highlights should go, what's light and dark, blah blah blah, but now, thanks to you, I finally understand the concept of putting the tip of a pencil onto the paper. good quality paper does not cause a lot...promise try to search and ask,,other deviants for cheap but quality paper

You said not to use black.. What if the hair colour is black? (This helped a bunch by the way XD)

If the hair is black, still don't use black to simply colour it in. Start with a dark navy blue or brown or gray, and then shade it darker with cooler colours. And in the end you can use some black. Even if an item is black, that isn't the only 'colour' you can see.

Guess I underestimated the ability of an artist to actually use them...
I'm still sticking with my $50 Prismacolor 40 color tin set...
