Description Hi, this is part one of a eye tut. It's about 10 mins long, the film is not the best but you can see how I draw an eye.

To watch you need to click on the download button to the right, oh and keep the video window small for the best look .

To watch the second part look here: [link]

thankyou so much for taking the time to make all these tutorials, they're very helpful! would love to see more in future, when you have the time of course!
can I ask, are there advantages to using mechanical pencils rather than regular pencils or is it just personal choice? I've often wondered if i should try using mechanical pencils but am unsure if there are any benifits as such?
would love your opinion
thanks again

What was it that you used to blend everything to smooth it out?
I couldn't quite catch it...
You're an excellent artist!

It's a blending stump, you can find them in most art supply stores.

I've always trouble with eyes. You know, to make it even more helpful, step-by-step instructions would help a lot. Through text and all. Just a tip Love this nonetheless.

That's really a great deal of help .
Would you mind if I asked you a few questions?
You know have to answer them if you don't want to..
Do you use a graph when you draw your outlines?
And,
Are you from New York? XD

wow- that is awesome. I can't draw/ sculpt properly at all when taping because I either rush or get scared of messing up and it just comes out crappy, so kudos for making such an awesome tutorial.

thanks so much for this!!! I learned quite a bit. very inspirational!

it's really amazing what you did in that movie! At first it looks like it is never going to look like an eye, but after a while it looks like a photo! Amazing work!

Nice music in the background I like watching how other people draw eyes. They are actually the only thing with which I don't have trouble drawing.
Your tutorial is excellent.

I watched it.It's a great tutorial! All this time I was wondering what exactly blending stump is and now I finally know-it's a good thing to have.(If I used blending stump-which I can't buy here when I live-my drawings would have much better contrast)

You can also use a piece of tissue wrapped around the eraser end of a pencil or other small paint brush-like thing. Wrap it thick so it doesn't tear, and rubber bands work nicely to keep it in place. Toilet paper and paper towels work too.

It beats having nothing to blend with.

I'm always afraid to lay down those really dark lines in case I ruin the picture

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

imaginee In reply to Eman333 [2008-02-12 10:44:05 +0000 UTC]

You can ruin the picture but you also need to try new ways. Just make sure to use a strong paper like Bristol so that you can make edits without the paper fallign apart.
