Description
This is my pride and joy at the moment. This is all gold silk and red cotton brocade, with cream velvet ribbon and gold trim. Those little gold florets took me ten minutes apiece. There are probably about 60 on the forepart and the sleeves. There are about 60 yards of velvet ribbon on this thing. The hat and feathers I bought, but I made the band. It is also used (with different band and feathers) for the periwinkle pearl costume. This took me forever, but it's so worth it. I know I'm making a strange face in one of these, but this involved much friendly teasing between me and my dad, the photographer. I would have taken these pictures outside, but there was no sunlight and Wisconsin is rather cold in December, not to mention rather snowy, and this cost too much to get wet.Edit: New pics, I always think they look better outside, and I have a great yard for it. I like the contrast of the green tree against the red and gold. It was a windy day, and it made my skirt floof up a bit, which looks cool.

My first thought is WOW.
My second though is i hope she used the washroom before putting that on as it would take a while to take off again.
High fashion has a horrible price. The look is perfect though. The colors are a perfect match.

Quick question for ya Do you remember how many yards went into this overskirt? And did you use a pattern or some other method? *in the process of making a red velvet overskirt*

Why thank you. I am described as defiant by the optimists. Usually stubborn and pigheaded are the adjectives I receive about my forceful nature.

I'd really like to own something like that. Or better... to be able to SEW it myself. But I just suck in this kind of stuff..... T_T Shame on me, I should try harder.

Hi ! you have been chosen by one of my ODD Account watchers to be in the spotlight !
Today's theme is dedicated entirely to the masses as they have sent me O.D.D. suggestions to feature.
ODDS (oibyrd's daily deviations) are to honor the sometimes overlooked artists of dA that I personally think deserve some exposure and also, to introduce the more popular artists to the new/overlooked deviants. I prefer to showcase ALL artwork that I love (and that includes popular artists) in order to create a non-biased feature of the talent on dA Please click the link below to see your work featured and to view other featured artists . If you prefer not to be a featured artist, just send me a note and I will remove you from the list. Cheers! Sandi xoxo

Oh, that model, she's amazing, isn't she? lol. I like wearing it, I get to show off my skills and my "grand-canyon cleavage" as one of my friends put it.
I sass what you're talking about, my friend. You really seem to know where your towel is.

MajorTommy In reply to immortalphoenix [2006-03-14 06:03:31 +0000 UTC]
I kinda made the comment about the model in part because I thought she has a nice pair, but it was actually the eyes that I was looking at!
I just looked through some of your other stuff. You really are very talented.
Next year I plan to make it back to the renfest in south Florida (I missed it this year), but I have no period clothing... If you are ever so inclined, I may be willing to trade some jewelry or chainmail to go with your stuff, for something fairly simple that a guy would wear to a Ren Fair. (I do understand everything I've seen in your gallery is women's wear, but maybe you wouldn't mind trying to make some menswear?)
And yes, I do know where my tow... umm... er...
Has anyone seen a large blue towel and a bag of peanuts???
