ok, this is not a professional tutorial (as you might have noticed ) but i didn't have the time to draw it better

anywho, i hope this one will do

1. string 3 (6, 9 or 12...) beads and tie them together.
2. continue stringing beads (adding 2 beads for the following 4 triangles and 1 bead for the last triangle) until you get this shape
3. this is the tricky part. now you have to continue making triangles - watch out because the ball will deform and you could easily loose track of where you should add triangles. try making the first ball in several colors - each row a different color. this row widens the ball. if you want a mini ball then stop here and repeat #2. if you want a bigger ball continue making #3 - careful - you have to add triangles to each new row; if you don't you'll end up making a sock-tube (i did that once by accident ). you can finish this bigger ball by repeating the steps backwards.

this "tutorial" is not something i learned somewhere; i wanted to make a hollow sphere and this is what i came up with. it worked for me, i hope it's gonna work for you, but if it doesn't try searching the internet for a real tutorial, there might be a better way to do this.
