why do you have to ask that evil question? i like way too many things. usually i end up making the rich desserts that arent too sweet. i dont like a lot of sweets too much either but i do like to have some sort of dessert. at the grocery store, you might be able to find me either in the fruits, baking supplies or simply the bakery.

ok, so my absolute favorites would prolly be tiramisu, NY cheesecake, and alhambra.

Sorry
I'm trying to make friend with you (Beside its interesting).

I've tried tiramisu few days ago - taste nice... But what is alhambra?

I like the most... hmm cherries in alcohol and chocolate

i would consider you a friend.

alhambra is a small torte(cake) that is hazelnut sponge moistened with coffee simple syrup. it iced with ganache thinly, and for a glossy appearance, warm ganache is then glazed over it. then its decorated on top in chocolate the word alhambra and topped with marzipan roses and leaves. its incredibly rich but very good.

are they like the brandied cherries we get in school, the griottenes?

Sounds good - you know its always like that - when you like something its usuly expensive... mine cherries are like that too - at least like for me... so I dont have them to often.

...I almoust forgot - Yes they are like that - currently its that what I mean. I just miss the word sorry

theres about 8-12 oz good quality chocolate, callebaut is all i use, and its about 20$ per kilo. about 6 dollars on that, a few more cuz i have to special order hazelnut flour and i also have to charge labor for the marzipan flowers. i dont really know how to put a base price one things that are just labor consuming.

its alright. we had to use the griottenes for black forest cakes and i dnt really care for them, at least at the present time. im too used to maraschino cherries.

what do you mean by "labor consuming" ??

IMntHRimEVRYWHER In reply to Arafevala [2008-12-08 08:55:06 +0000 UTC]

well, how would you charge for a gumpaste wired rose? do you charge based on the product cost or the labor that goes into making it. gumpaste is only 4 dollars for i think my recipe makes like 6 oz. a rose is less than an ounce.

its just confusing to me at the moment. i cant set a price for most things cuz i dont know how long it takes me to do them well. i know for sure i can get at least 18-20$ out of an 8" cake, mainly based on food cost. i dunno, its weird.

for me, its usually when i hav some money, i just pick up my keys, and take off somewhere. if i plan on an overnight drive or stay, ill pack some clothes, if not, then im out of luck if i end up staying out. i guess its kinda my moms fault. weve always moved around and traveled. ive lived in 5 states, ive moved a total of 14 times and florida, cali and all the states between.

when i lived with my mom in ky, i was alway goin tennessee. memphis was 4 hours away, nashville 2, louisville was 4.

i just liked driving around and seeing what i didnt see last time or seeing something new.

Wow, I've only ever moved once (and that was only to come to uni ) I envy you I guess going out spur of the moment is an exciting way of seeing the world but going all around the world might need some planning

yeah. i know, just a little planning. at least a place to stay, something to get around on, and a way of getting there. once ther id rather wonder and maybe get lost.
