Description Another update? What is the world comming to!

So I noticed my last piece's composision was a bit boring. I'm working on a few pictures focussing mostly on realistic lighting so I've been using a lot of browns and grays. As a way to compensate, I put them aside and made something focussing simply on composision. Just threw down some random energetic shapes with strong colours.

Noticed I could place a character in there, so I did. I had already made the scarf thing pink, so I was reminded of 'Viewtiful Joe'. But, I'm not doing fan art right now, so I put in my own characters. Remembered that I had a cast of heroes that were parodies of the old hero teams like Powerrangers and Trurtles.

The one on the top right is the leader of the 'Deal sniffer Dogs.' An ordinary group of bored men that noticed they had the power to smell drugs (yeah.) So instead of helping the local lawinforcement, they put on wierd costumes and started hunting down drugdealers. The ones on the bottom are 'The Combo Rapper Bunnies'. (Turtles parody). The left one is Crackajackrabbit. Leader and smuggler. (main target of the dealsniffers...), top one is Blingbling. Jewlery thief. And the last one I don't have a name for yet. Handles transpotation theft and has a thing for music.

Then... theres the middle guy. Leader of the 'Fable Creature Protection Force' (Massive Powerrangers parody.) He's White unicorn.

He's actually a real sissy who's main tagline is "Unicorn power! Wheeeeeee!!!" But due to how I composed the picture, he came out 'coolified'. He looks more like a unicorn really. Polytail, visor etc. Just imagine that this is his evil brother or something and you'll be fine.

So there you have it. Another series I'll probably never get around to. Feels wierd to have made anything of them to tell the truth. I didn't include the rest of the team members as they're still WIP. Meh. Enjoy.

Awesome! White Unicorn here really turned out great! And I love the graphic-looking cape and action bolts.

I have to admit, I thought that it was a Viewtiful Joe fanart when I first saw this, but as I read through all of your comment I was obviously taught otherwise.

Even though the picture doesn't actually strike me as all too funny, I had to smirk a few times while reading the comment beneath it. So yeah. I'm making this comment because I think the way you described the characters was brilliant. I can actually imagine most of these characters in a comic. Did you ever think of doing one? I would certainly read it (anything that takes the mick out of the Power Rangers is a welcome treat ).

Was considering making it a into a fanart altogether, but I've never had a chance to use those characters for anything 'till now, so I thought what the hell.

The characters backgrounds were made by making fun of the whole hero-team consept, so I don't have much in the way of a story, just thought it was funny. People ask me if I cold make comics a lot, and I've really wanted to do one, I'm just too picky about what I want to do and scap things before I even start. That, and I have work to do and get tired. I've got a lot of things I really want to do, like make games and make an animated movie, but so far I've had to put my comic projects on hold.

I somethimes wonder how many actually *would* read my comics if I made them. It's an interesting trail of thought I suppose.

Hmm... I don't know about who else wanting to read your comics, but if you could promote your art even a bit more, who knows?

But I know what you mean about drawing them. With me it's the same thing - there are so many things I'd like to do, but there just doesn't seem to be enough time to get around to do them. Interestingly I pretty much played with the same ideas as you did.

I wouldn't advertise unless I had a product I feel I could be proud to advertise. So far, my gallery feels more loike my advanced doodle bin.

So what you're saying is, you've also been playing with the idea of making mutated gangster-rabbits fight hosenosed drugsniffers interrupted by a back of deranged Powerrangers?

No, of course not!
But I have been playing with the idea of transferring some stories of my own into comics. They're not parodies, but there are some wicked ideas in them (which share a bit of your wickedness in some respect, if not the parody aspect of them). Someday, I say. Someday.

Whoa-cool. Awesome shading variations. Gradients are luffley. I can't make up a very good existing word for this, so I'll just say that it's razamataztic. Heh. It's the best word I can use to explain the awesome, eye-catching scheme.

Parodies are awesome. I think I love your crack-tastic bunnies. And clouds. Can't forget the fluffy clouds. :3

Best of all, all the gradients are made by hand. Take that presets!

Razamataztic. Fairly better than the modest Shprokay I reckon. :9
Hahaha! Crackbunnies, it sounds so wrong.

Yes, I see that in the texture of the brush. (Digital or not, texture is possible. I love that <3)

Ahah, yes, I agree. Crack... hah.

This screams "EPIC" all over it. I like it even though he's suposted to be a sissy. This could be the one thing that he does where he looks awesome for about 5sec. and then fails. Heck what you have so far for this actually sounds pretty good. I'd read it.

Imson In reply to SyraCourage [2007-09-23 12:38:52 +0000 UTC]

Maybe. But I can't really picture any awesome unicorn power. Trying to headbutt someone with the horn would look silly, and then there is... super hoof? Mane of justice? I feel compelled to draw his sissy state :9

People tell me I should make comics, but I'm pretty indecisive. I would really want to, but with my job and lack of focus I don't think I'd get it done. :\

Hahaha!!! seeing his sissy state would be hilarious! Yeah....I don't have much focus either.......I rarely get stuff finished myself. I end up getting bored with it half the time.

I can totally see some Viewtiful Joe in that cape. It's also so well done that it appears unique.

Lovely work!

Considered changing the colour to differantiate a bit more, but I had already made my mind up about the colours. Viewtiful Joe: The only man to make pink scarfs look good
