This took a little longer than planned, but it's more due to other things than the picture itself.So when I completed my last picture I toyed around with shapes and colours. Flat blue, some blocks, some more blue, wavy lines etc. Then I began to try and make some sense of it, so I made some things here and there. I noticed the character that was emerging bore striking simmilareties to the character you can vaguely see in another illustration I did. When I tried the pirate airships, it all fit together.
So this turned unintentionally into a sequal to WHAT IS THIS PLAAAACE? . I wouldn't have done it any other way though. The first illustration was more an experiment that came about when I recalled some shapes I'd seen in a museum. Both of them have no story or planned purpose, but like the old one, I want you to make up your own vision of what this world of theirs is. I'm getting an idea myself, but like I said, nothing here is planned. Why is the sky split into two worlds? Who is that guy? What is his connection to yhe airships?
Basically: What is this place?...

That's a very crazy place, indeed. The guy's outfit reminds me of Dark Link, heh. Maybe it's the boots.

....Hmmmmm....Awesome pic.....Let's see....What is the place? I think the person with the flowing hair is a captian of one of those airships & he has the ability to warp worlds togeather...Much to the dislike of the worlds inhabitants....He's just looking for profit.

That's pretty much what I was thinking. Though it's usually not a good idea to go with the first idea, it does make the most sense. Still, there is more in there to be discovered :9

I was a bit worried about that, so I'm glad it didn't come out that way. I was more interested in the shape and composition, so I didn't want to loose the firmness too much.

They bore a lot of simmilarities, I guess that's why it became sort of a sequal. Though, I don't think the guy normally has this much hair. O_o

No I don't find the ships funny looking....they make me happy when I look at them. Im not too sure why...it might be because they look like blimps. I wasn't trying to sound offensive.....I really do enjoy this alot.

You have no idea how many times I hed to retest the perspective for the guy on the ledge. His hair is so massive it blocks off key elements that tell you the shape and perspecive of the head and several bodyparts. Didn't want to destroy the shape though, so this was the clearest shape I got so far. Interestingly enough, having him cross his arms and not having them on his sides did loads for the perspective.
