One of the few things that really bug me is when someone tells me "You have no right/place to rant about this." Because somehow I may have contradicted myself or just offended the other person in some way. Honestly, people have the right to do whatever the fuck they want, who are you to tell them how to rant, what to rant and not rant about. I mean...common it's their sodding journal for pete's sake!
It also applies to people who expect you to be happy all the goddamn time as if it's so obnoxious to even vent every now and then. God forbid you are negative for once!
This goes out to all of you who had someone complain about your rants before.

I personally think the whole "Do you live under a roof? Then shut the fuck up you spoiled brat, you have no right to complain." comments. Unless the person is a spoiled brat and wants to run away from mommy and daddy for invalid reasons, okay I see why someone would say that. But otherwise, people do have problems. There's no harm in venting them.

I fucking hate it when that happens. When I'm ranting about how inappropriate the yaoi fandom has become, hoh man! Do I not get the flame! And it's only from one person. I love debating with them too, because they get so testy ^-^!

I just say block the asshole. People who tell you what you can or cannot rant about are people who tend to hate it when people rant. Everyone gets one of those types of people and will have someone tell them to stop being 'emo' just because they expressed how they felt about a situation. People like that don't belong on your page. They can also be hidden too.

Pretty much. It's quite hard to have no place to say anything, because the rant would have started from SOMETHING that is upsetting, whether it may sound trivial in the end or not.
