his engine has just exploded; this will throw him off-course, and will cause the engine to act heywire from now on. i hope you've noticed that the bee is now shooting skyward. i've tried to keep him in the centre of the screen, with all the action happening around him. really, i must insist again, it's a lot better to view this series as a slideshow; everything's a lot easier to follow, and you can better understand what i have been trying to do...

i really like the shading on the smoke. it's sort of like cell-shading, i think - something that i tried to do for my self-portrait, but lacked the confidence to achieve.
