Hi there!Yet another "against-the-light" matte painting.
I want to show off a post apocalyptic destroyed cityscape, maybe after a war.
It's done with Photoshop CS and After Effects.
I kept the buildings in several layers and added fog in between.
Finally I rendered a camera pullback in After Effects with a previous version of the matte.
Please use "save target as ...", since I haven't optimised the clips for streaming:

This is a beautiful picture and one of the most well-done post apocalyptic images I have found (yes, searched for quite a lot of them :/ ). I agree the other posters about the photorealism. This is one of the pictures that, if you use a bit of imagination, lets you know what youd hear, feel and sense if you were in the picture.

Beautiful, in a horrifying way...
I've always loved this piece. The subtle coloring, the settling dust, the few lights still burning... It's just so authentic. It's the sunrise after the end of the old world, and the beginning of a new one.
My favorite part of this whole image, though, is that you seem to have included the "shroud" of one of the World Trade Center towers, just above the signature. I can't believe no one else already pointed that out... beautiful tribute.
