Hi there!It took me quite a long time to decide where to put this matte painting.
Finally it ended up here in the digital painting section, since I had more paint work to do then manipulation.
I think it's a good mix between photo manipulation and digital painting. 50/50
The character is Sophie Collier aka lockstock ([link] )! Thank you!
It's entirely done with Photoshop CS. (yes, it's still the old version!)

Excellent job. Some parts look clearly photographed, others have that painting feeling. Overall, it is a pleasant view.
Actually I've got a feeling this would make a perfect 1000-piece puzzle. I usually don't like puzzles that are based on scenery photographs, but this, I think, would be great fun to build. 8)

This is really pretty. It looks like she's just sitting there and taking it all in. Maybe she's dreaming of flying over the city like the birds.
It's a good mix of fantasy and real-life scenes. I actually have that same stock photo in my art folder that i'm considering for one of my photomanips. You did a good job of shading the girl so that she matches the environment. That can be kind of tricky sometimes.

I stared at it for 10 minutes and I must tell you it's difficult to say which items were painted and which were taken from photos! Great work! It is worth to be used as environment in some kind of fairy-tale movie. Its one of the most realistic digital paintings I've seen here!

only thing is the water seems to be slightly out of perspective.. something odd about it. like the flat of water itself is on an angle. which ofcourse land can do, but water cannot.
