Chapter Two
"It's funny how you never realise how much you love a person until someone else gets them first."
--
There he was. He was standing right in front of you, gazing down at you with those annoyingly innocent blue eyes of his, arms folded across his chest as he waited for you to make a move.
You looked up slowly, (e/c) orbs trailing up his body until they came to settle upon his face. You instantly felt your brow crease and your eyes grow hard.
Link seemed to notice your intense glare and shifted his weight from one foot to the other almost nervously. His arms lowered to his sides and he frowned, no doubt wondering why he was receiving such a harsh stare. You exhaled loudly and pushed yourself up and out of your chair.
"Alright." You snapped, making sure not to even look at the poor boy when you spoke. "Let's get this over with."
You then began to walk toward the door of the Headmaster's office. Link watched you curiously, one eyebrow raised slightly. Once you noticed your new "partner" wasn't making a move to follow you, you turned to face him, a firm scowl upon your face.
"Well hurry up, would you?! We don't have all day, you know?" You stated, causing the young hero to flinch. You then turned and quickly exited the office while Link turned to look at Headmaster Gaepora, blue eyes flashing.
'What's up with her?' The Headmaster chuckled.
"Do not worry Link. (Name) is a very proud girl and you should be honoured to have her as your partner. I've no doubt you two will be the best of teams." Link deadpanned, his shoulders dropping.
'You're kidding right? I don't think she's interested in working together. She looks like she would rather feed me to a Deku Baba, Headmaster.'
"Give her time, Link. All great things are revealed with time. And I foresee something great in store for the both of you." The man said, a reassuring smile resting upon his lips. Link seemed more than a little unconvinced, but nonetheless, he nodded. Headmaster Gaepora motioned toward the door of his office.
"Go now, Link. (Name) is waiting for you."
Link nodded once again firmly, and turned to exit the office.
"Link." The Headmaster spoke out once again before the boy walked out. "Remember. Be patient. You of all people should know what a good ally patience is when you're in a rough spot."
Link sighed. Yes, patience had saved him more times than he could count during his adventures. There was no doubt that earning your trust and respect would take quite a bit of patience, and Link was almost certain it would be one of his most difficult tasks. But he wouldn't give up.
The boy nodded once again at the Headmaster before leaving the office, determination burning in his young eyes. He held his head high as he walked down to the lower level of the academy. He pushed the large front doors of the main entrance open and stepped outside. There he saw you leaning against one of the far walls that surrounded the building. He walked toward you, his strut confident.
"Took you long enough." You snapped once the hero was in ear shot. "I could have already gone to the bazaar and come back on my own, you're so slow."
Link's step faltered and he stumbled, his determined face falling as you didn't even wait for him to reach your side before turning and heading toward the heart of the island. He watched you as you walked, a drop of sweat running down his neck.
Yes, this was going to be quite the task indeed.
--
The two of you had reached the bazaar rather quickly. You were ahead of Link the whole time, taking large strides with Link trying his best to keep up with you. He even tripped once somewhere along the way.
"Hurry up now. Come on!" You would call over your shoulder at him. Sheesh! What a slow boy. Link's brow furrowed as he quickened his pace. Once he managed to match strides with you, he dared a glance down at you.
He wasn't that much taller than you he noticed, maybe three or four inches. He also noticed how nicely your (h/c) hair shimmered in the sunlight and flowed in the wind as you walked. He smiled. It looked pretty, he thought.
He also noticed your eyes. They were bright. Hard and determined, just like the Headmaster had said. He could see years of fight in you, pride and skill. Wild and free, they were. It was nearly enough to send a shiver down his spine.
"What are you staring at, Hero boy?" Your voice snapped him out of his thoughts and he stumbled again. Had you caught him staring? The young hero righted himself and held his hands up in defence, shaking his head slightly. You rolled your eyes, then pointed.
"We're here." You said. "At the bazaar."
Link nodded and motioned for you to enter first. You scowled at him.
"Chivalry won't get you anywhere with me, hero boy. So don't even try it." You said, arms crossed. Link deflated visibly.
'There's just no winning with this girl...' He offered you crooked smile, before nodding his head again and entering the building. You waited a moment before following him inside.
Once the two of you were inside, Link motioned for you to follow him. He showed you around all the different shops. He showed you where to buy a shield, and then to where you could get your items improved. You couldn't help laughing when Link was hit over the head by a little robot with a seemingly short temper. The poor thing was rambling on about someone called "Misstress Fi" or something like that.
Link then took you to the potion shop. He showed you all the different potions, but allowed the shop keeper to do the explaining.
Once you were familiarised with everything, Link cut you loose. You'd insisted that you would do your own shopping and pick out what you needed. You bought a shield, a rather sturdy one too. You also bought a quiver and forty arrows. Then you made sure to stock up on some red potion and stamina potion. Once you were ready, you turned to find Link.
You spotted the boy at the storage counter. You could see upon coming closer that the young lady who owned the stand was swooning helplessly over the hero. Link simply smiled at her and collected his things when she finally brought them out. You scoffed.
"What an airhead." You muttered to yourself. "...and that girl looks pretty ditzy too."
Once Link was finished, he turned and headed toward you, his arms filled with items. You noticed, with some interest that he was carrying a shield, although his shield looked much different from yours. It was blue rather than purple, and had a strange triangular symbol on it. It was curious, you thought. Perhaps it was a gift from the Headmaster.
Link gazed at you and tilted his head in a questioning fashion. You rolled your eyes.
"Yes, I'm ready. We can go now."
The two of you left the bazaar and headed back to the academy. On the way, you stopped by the training room and you were granted a sword from the instructor. Once that was taken care of, both you and Link headed to your respective rooms to get ready to head off to the surface world. By now, night had fallen. After getting some sleep for the journey ahead, you began to get ready.
You pulled on your (favourite color) tunic and your white pants. You slipped on your brown boots and your gloves and arm braces. You then secured your quiver full of arrows, your shield and your sword to your back. You tucked all of your potions away into your adventure pouch. You gazed at yourself in your mirror while pulling on your hat.
"Well (Name), this is it." You said to your reflection. You looked out your window. The sun was getting ready to rise. The Headmaster had said that now was the time for both you and Link to plan out your travel route. You groaned.
With one last look around your room, just to make sure you hadn't forgotten anything, you slowly walked out and closed the door. You then headed up to the Headmaster's office. There, you saw Link standing with the Headmaster, awaiting your arrival. You noticed that Link also had all of his gear...minus a sword.
"Hey." You said, causing both men to look toward you. "Where's your sword? You don't expect me to do all the fighting now do you?"
Link shook his head quickly, and the Headmaster chuckled, patting Link upon the shoulder.
"Do not worry (Name). Link is more than prepared. You won't be carrying this task alone."
After this, he motioned for you and Link to have a seat. He explained that Zelda, Pipit and Karane had already departed for the surface earlier, and now you and Link had to plan out the route you would take. You remained relatively quiet for this, since you didn't know anything about the surface. Link had pulled out a map and laid it across his lap for you and the Headmaster to see.
The map was old and well used, you noticed. Link marked out the ideal route for you both to take. You noticed the route lead from the island to a large green circular mark on the map. Your eyes narrowed as you stared at the mark, trying to imagine what it could possibly mean.
"Hm, that looks like a good route. (Name), would you like to add anything?" The Headmaster said, snapping your attention back to what was at hand. You shook your head.
"Very well then. Link, (Name), you will be leaving for the surface world shortly. If there are any last minute preparations you need to make, now is the time to do it. If not, I will release you both now. Good luck, Knights." The Headmaster brought his hand up in a salute. You and Link did the same, determination burning in your eyes. Link turned to you and nodded.
You both exited the Headmaster's office and headed down to the lobby of the academy, then you headed outside.
The sun had begun to cast it's early morning glow upon the island. As you and Link headed toward the heart of the town and the main loftwing dock, you felt your stomach tie into knots. Not out of nervousness, mind you, but out of sheer excitement.
Sure, you were stuck with the one person you just couldn't stand, but this was, just as Karane had said, a once in a lifetime chance.
The two of you reached the dock. Link looked toward you and you looked back. He nodded firmly and quickly lept from the dock. You heard his whistle only a few seconds later, and after that, you saw a red blur as Link was swept up by his trusty Loftwing. You grinned dispite yourself.
Then, without further hesitation, you lept from the dock as well, whistling out for your own Loftwing. She swooped down and caught you and you smiled down at her.
"Let's go, girl!" You shouted over the wind. "To the surface world!"
And with that, you sped off after Link and his Loftwing.

Ah, if only there was more, but alas, you have yet to do that I would offer to take this story off of you're hands, but I have no idea how to write reader stories, and I suck and romance, so, that's a no go
but nevertheless, this was amazing while it lasted, and I thank you for the experience

The "rest" of the chapters are on Wattpad under the name Lumina1602, but I Believe it is NOT the real author.
The paragraph format and grammar is lazy and shorted... and the plot...ruined, it has gotten cliché and uninteresting.
Plus they note in the third chapter that they're German, as an excuse for the lack of grammar...

I just have read the "rest"... and yeah i have the same feeling that she is not the same/real author.
Sad 'cause this story started so good. I hope the story will go on one day *O*

Yeah I fell the same. I think it is real cowardly for somebody would take credit of a good story. I understand if somebody wants to continue the story on their own (with permission from the author of course), but to steal someone's work and butcher it COMPLETELY is infuriating as well as insulting to the original author and their fans.

MORE! MORE! MORE! MORE!
Quick Question,
Why are Link's words that he says in italics? Is that supposed to mean something or...?
Great Story tho!
