Description
The three friends had seperated for the next assigment of the Outlaw Trail.
Heather was actually already looking forward to the task, afterall, what better than a trained herding dog and trained cutting and herding horse could you have with you, when your task was to find some run-away white horses?

She also couldn't quite believe it'd be too hard to find one or more of these horses, afterall they were white and dressed in their fancy circus gear, so, how hard could it get?
It turned out pretty hard! For hours and hours Heather, Maddie and Johnny kept wandering around the plains and canyons and they found not one single horse.
Deciding to climb up a small hill to get a better view, Heather took a look around, heaving somewhat of a sigh.
"Man, wouldn't have thought it'd be that hard.", she mumbled, when sudden Maddie perked her ears.
Following her mare's glance, Heather finally spotted what they had been looking for! A group of three white horses was sniffing around near the entrance of a little, narrow canyon, apparently seeking for grass or something else to eat.

Well, now the question was: The easy way or the hard way?
Sure, Heather definitely also wouldn't have anything against it, would she just have to ride over, calmly take the lead with Maddie and walk these horses back to the circus, afterall they already had been wandering about in the mercyless heat all morning.
Yet, just when she had finished the thought, the horses seemed to also catch notice of her, for their heads came up, ears perking. And then, one of them gave a snort and they were off!

"So, the hard way it is.", Heather just mumbled, before giving a little whistle.
Johnny, who just had been waiting for his sign shot off like a bolt, followed by Heather and Maddie. Good thing was, these horses were trained to perform pretty tricks, but not for stamina and so it was not all too hard a job for Johnny and Maddie, who were trained just for that, to catch up to them.
Slipping into the canyon, Heather sent Johnny after the trio, while Maddie and her took a path to the right, hoping to manage to get infront of the horses, like that.

Her plan worked out, a moment before the horses and Johnny shot out, Maddie and her exited the canyon. They were back on the plains, now they needed to bring them together and slow them down.
Sending Johnny foward, Heather brought Maddie to the side of the horses, the mare laying her ears back, afterall she was used to becoming boss to stubborn bulls, some white horses definitely weren't a problem then and also Johnny seemed to gain more and more control of the small herd.

They kept their chase for another bit, then finally managing to slow the horses down to a trott and finally walk, Heather quickly getting Maddie into a leading position, while sending Johnny to keep watching from behind and the other side.
Then, however, a great surprise all of the sudden hit Heather!
The three horses had become four!
All of the sudden there was a paint walking with them, keeping to angriely frown at Johnny, but not daring to break out.
For a moment Heather was confused. Where on earth had that horse came from? It hadn't been there before! It just could've been in the canyon, where Johnny had chased the horses through on his own and, well, the paint having ended up just running with them.
Wherever it had come from, Heather couldn't let it go now, it'd just stirr up the other three again and she definitely was not going to lose these horses again.
So, well, all she could do was bring the paint along, get the white horses back to the circus and then ask there and at the camp, if anybody was missing a paint and if not, well . . .
