Description here is my kings Guardsman in all his glory
part of my M.A.D post apocalyptic fiction

the lore attributed to his fraction, "the Redcoats" below
(essentially they are a cult who worships the English royal family shout out to Yarpster for helping me come up with the idea.)

Redcoats
The Redcoats are a group hailing from within the gates of the long abandoned royal Tower, of which they have fortified with a series of trenchlines. They are led by a man going by the title King Charles the III of England, who claims himself as a direct descendant to the English crown. The Redcoats are believers in the Divine right of rule, in that royal blood is holy and that God intends their dynasty to rule. Therefore King Charles and his family claim that they are the rightful rulers of the British isle and like the gunners, they are on a mission to restore lore and order in the wasteland, with the exception that they desire an absolute monarchy. He himself claiming that the great war was a result of the monarchy having too little power in the old world and therefore, such corruption from those illfit to rule incoured the wrath of God. Yet unlike the gunners, they lack the armaments to launch any kind of crusade and as a result are stuck in a desperate defensive war, trying to defend the holy sites of royalty from the violation of "commoners". Their footsoldiers, draped in faded red garments endure rat infested trenches, fighting back the forces of Cromwell and the gunners
Who the Redcoats refer to as the Roundheads.
Beyond their woeful footmen is the fighting nobility who refer to themselves as the Knighthood. They are honourable warriors sworn to protect the subjects of the king and enact his will in battle. They mainly spend their time however on quests around the wasteland, looking for the royal relics of old and preventing their violations. They are highly skilled warriors who have trained hard with a sword since the age of 5.
Within the kingdom of king Charles the two houses, the nobility and church all act as advisers for their lege. Yet they are political forces to be kept in check and kept content, otherwise they become hungry for the throne. King Charles III has been a master balancing these opposing powers but such work has had him grown paranoid in his old age, leading to him becoming an exceptionally cruel king. Known for ordering the execution of anyone he deems a traitor. Having his supposed opposition beheaded with their heads mounted on pikes as a warning against such treachery to the god king. For his reign of terror he has earned the nickname "bloody Charlie" by the common folk who mutter such slurs beyond the watchful eye of the royal guard.
They are sworn enimies of the Gunners, who see them as blasphemers for the worship of false prophets. Cromwell used his artillery to destroy the sacred building of the royal palace, yet the brave Knights of the king prevented him from doing any further damage by keeping the artillery out of engagement range. Since the outbreak of war after first contact both the Gunners, the Redcoats have been locked in brutal trench warfare with offensive action being near suicide. The war between the two stands at a stalemate reducing many parts of the city into a deadly no man's land. The Redcoats are hardy defenders who despite having limited access to firearms have made their trenches extremely hard to take by the attackers. They prove to be adept in close quarters bayonet combat and the Knights are well skilled in the art of the sword. They have the tendency to lure their enemies into dead end trenches then attacking their foolhardy foes, who are more than less prepared for close engagements. This as well as various other interior and exterior threats have prevented the gunners conquering the less numerous and less equipped Redcoats and taking their sacred royal sites such as the royal Tower, Henry's palace, Kensington and the palace of James.

the king's guardsmen.

the king's guardsmen are the rank and file of the crown's army they don the red uniforms of the warriors of old and are drilled extensively by the Knighthood in how to use their bayonets and halberds.
they are the royalist volunteers of the common folk who are drafted into warbands by the crown. they are very traditional and pride themselves in the red uniform, despite it highlighting them to snipers. their pride suppasses such fear a fear of death.
