Oh dear... while the Wonka up there calmed me down a little, I got an uncomfortable flashback from this. A friend once had me watch this and I fell asleep on purpose because I could not bear the angst, heh.

Fanstastic idea, and it's drawn very well, too. Just how long did Charlie's sweater take?

The horrors of the factory are fun to think about!
I don't know how long exactly, but it didn't take long -- just a bunch of X's and diamonds and stripes.

It's a spoiler of the 1973 film "Soylent Green" starring Charlton Heston. In a futuristic dystopia, real food is hard to come by, and most people eat soylent yellow, soylent green, etc. The ugly punchline of the film is that the hero discovers that Soylent products are actually the processed remains of dead people.

I wondered why you never got to see what happened to the other children in the original movie...

I love this. Especially how Willy can be seen happily whistling off in the background, adding to Charlie's trauma.

Yes, but only the worst sort Charlie. Don't worry, the Buckets (despite their enticing name) have been spared and not placed into any....yet.

Wow, it's cool to see you use a 'cartoon' style (with a touch of Van Gogh or is that Home Alone?). Mr. Wonka's whistle is particularly fun. Whistle while you work, eh sir? Good layout of the vats, keeps the eye wandering all the way toward the buzy worker. Figures he prefers to do that dreadful task personally, too much fun to give to the OL's.
