Just: "So... yeah. I'd already modified myself to be detachable, and installed a backup brain in my spine so I could run my consciousness there if I wanted. After a while I wanted to see what would happen if I let my body run in autonomous mode while I was just a head. Her becoming her own person *was* in the list of expected outcomes, but it happened a lot faster than I was expecting. Anyway, I had the lab's automated systems make a new body for me and install a hover unit in my neck, so I could get around without imposing on Dully all the time."

Dully: "I still wear Just on my stump sometimes, when we're both feeling nostalgic. Most of the time I prefer my stump cap though; much better at keeping crap out of my lungs, while also letting me feel stump pats."
