Yes I can. Shane Black himself said that the Predator needed to be reinvigorated. “To take the Predator from a sort of knock-off version that gets a certain amount of money every few years to one that’s more eventized, that you would get your tickets for it months in advance, actually know it’s coming, and say, ‘Yeah, let’s line up and see that.’” Reffering of course to slew of crappy money-grabs that were the previous sequels and spin-offs.

Proof? There are only 3 Predator films thus far, for starters. Plus, I read that article. He doesn't elaborate one bit on that quote, so you are just painting him the same as you. Not to mention that from that quote, it sounds like he ignores one of the many truths about filmmaking, which is that sometimes you really can't tell how a film will end up until it's finished, which means that sometimes you can't actually know what's coming months in advance. And let's not forget that if he's uninvolved with the editing process and the editor is crappy, then The Predator will be crappy regardless. You're also still ignoring that his word means about as much as Topher Grace's, which means at best, your argument here cancels out mine which makes it even. You're still ignoring that he doesn't have a resume like Steven Spielberg. Not to mention his latest movie is expected to under-perform during opening weekend. The Predator is still iffy at this point.

Yes, it's iffy, I'll agree with you on that. However, I trust Shane Black's word and work a hell of a lot more than Topher Grace's that's for sure.

Superficial. Realistically speaking, there is no reason to not reserve judgement until the final film is released. After all, sometimes you really can't just take a person's word. Careful, or you might just develop a confirmation bias. Shane Black's work? As I have repeatedly pointed out, he doesn't have enough work to go on for an accurate judgement, and right now you're prejudging.

He has a considerable amount of previous works. I've seen and enjoyed pretty much all of his movies. You can't just write off his previous works because you don't want to acknowledge them, that's like saying Quentin Tarantino doesn't have enough previous work to base an opinion on him just cause he's only made 8 feature films. Sure, Black has only directed 4 movies so far, but he has considerably more screenplays to his name, which are all good in my opinion.
But either way, I am absolutely reserving judgement on this film. I only disagreed on your initial remarks about Predator 2 causing damage to the franchise (it does not, it allowed for expansion of the character and is a perfectly good and severely underrated sequel) and Predators being the saving grace (not by a long shot, it went with the "bigger and badder" ideology while still copying the original movie beat by beat and adding absolutely nothing new, unlike Predator 2).

You'll say anything to try to not be wrong. It's not comparable to Quentin Tarantino at all. QT has a string of critical and commercial successes to his name. Shane Black does not, and he only has 3 movies to his directing resume thus far. Just because the man can write good movies that doesn't mean he can direct good movies, especially consistently. And no, you are clearly not reserving judgement given your previous comments.

Unfortunately, while I do not agree with Predaguy 's opinion about the AVP films... I do agree with him about PREDATORS... And it's technically not even the third film. Robert even confirmed it himself.

I thought we were talking about them as the conversation began about Aliens and Predators. But perhaps I should have restated it

Videogame Predators I assume, comic and movie ones don't have the best ratio...especially not the movie ones LoL

I meant was in the games you play a Predator that can mow down Xenomorphs, in the comics the Xenomorphs tended to win as often as be beaten, and in the first AvP movie of the three that went in the temple two were taken out fairly quickly (granted one had an awesome fight).
