Description
Worked in one layer. Charcoal brush. Took me about... three days? I would've speedpainted this one, but I wanted to see how I would do working with only one layer. I think it came out okay. What do you guys think?Love you all! See you in the comments~

You did this in only one layer?! That's really impressive..
I like the atmosphere of this drawing so much, especially the essence of the tree
If I had to give just one element of critique, it would be the colour combination: although the bright red gives this a vibrant feel, it might be better to let this amazing tree stand out even more by using a softer tone? Because it really is beautifully done!!

i really love this
i see one thing, only, that i don't care for
that is the glow around the green tree is too strong
the green glow around the grass seems perfect
everything else is so appealing
but that's just one man's quick opinion.

Yeah, now that I'm looking at it again after a couple days, I can see the glow's strength is too strong and doesn't correspond with the rest of the atmosphere. But really, thanks, I appreciate it! I love getting feedback like this, because it tells me what's wrong with my art so I can fix and improve~

Damn, you did an exeptional job, especially since you only used one layer! Yea that would be a good skill if you ever want to get into like non digital art, and you did an exelent job with the whole foreground, middleground, background thing, it adds character and personlality to your art~ but i would also suggest choosing your color scheme more carefully; one of the great things about the last few landscapes you did was that the colors agreed with eachother and were pleasing to the eye, and this dosent mean realistic landscapes particularly, but the red and green are two briliant colors that simply dont mix well together, and id suggest putting more emphasis on your foucous by removing other distracting values, like the lightening. i completely get that you want to make exiting artworks, but sometimes less is more! Even with that, you did an outstanding job with the details of the tree, and the texture throuout your painting is on point XD i like this, and would love to see more!

Thanks so much for the critique!! I really appreciate feedback such as yours, because it's so helpful in letting me know where to improve.
Yeah, I was trying to blend the green and orange/red colors together with gradients, but I guess I overdid it xDD I was originally going to go for a nest of blue crystals as the dominant image, but then settled for a tree since green is the complimentary color of orange. But yah, I can tell now that they didn't mix as well as I'd hoped. Oh well, trial and error!
Again, thanks so much!

Yo welcome XD yea you really did a good job with making the gradients and stuff, but little chinks like colors and stuff, that just takes time to get familiar with, and wont probably take too long to perfect~ you have a very creative mind, and are coming up with great subjects for landscapes, and youll soon find your own techniques on how to improve~ keep up the good work!
