MERIDA.The third Pixar princess, but the first to have her own movie. I want Brave to be good SO BADLY. Since it is Pixar, it will be at least passable. The only movie by them I haven't liked is A Bug's Life and I think I'm in the minority on that.
Brave has such an intriguing history, from its original title being changed (The Bear and the Bow) and director (who would have been the first female director at Pixar), Brenda Chapman being removed well into production. I really hope it survived better than, oh, say...TANGLED, which had the exact same thing happen (except its director was Glen Keane, a Disney Veteran of 20 odd years.). Either way, I love Merida thus far.

I love this doll. The Disney Store should have these in stock by now. She's in stock on the website. She's jointed, which is always a plus for display or play.
Beautiful.
Her hair is curly and frizzy and fantastic.
Her expression is sweet and impish, which I really like.
The only thing I don't like? Her itsy bitsy feet can't hold her up and she doesn't come with a stand...so Merida has to either sit or lean.

They have them at the Disney Store website and in the physical stores in the US, but I'm not sure how distribution is elsewhere.
Either way, she's awesome in real life!

Just saw a commercial for the Barbie-version... barely looks anything like her

I saw it at the toy store the other day...and yeah, it doesn't look anything like her. I really prefer the Disney "doll" version.

I ended up getting the Mattel doll just cause. I restyled her hair the best I could, but there's only so much you can do when the face doesn't match.
I really want the Disney Store dolls. Especially the Limited Edition.
