Description
This is my vision of Irk before it became a huge intergalactic power. I'd imagine that, before Irk was a fascist society, it was just a a dictatorship.

I based my idea heavily on The Handmaid's Tale (my teacher made me read it). Especially when it came to social-classes.

It was still a height-based society (only tall Irkens could hold political power, and short Irkens were low-class)

The military was not used to destroy other races. It was used to control its own people. Spies were everywhere, and those caught speaking against the government (or deviating from their assigned social class) were instantly killed and left to rot in the street as a warning to the others.

In order to maintain a steady supply of soldiers, it is required that every mating-pair has at least 6 smeets. And every male is required to have a mate. Only High-status males may have additional "handmaids".
