The colored version of [link]Raphael of the TMNT, feeding his non-biological daughter Rachel, with his wife Kylee at his side, and looking rather grumpy because his clown of a brother Michelangelo thought the moment merited a photo-shoot. ^_^
I REALLY like the coloring on this one - I like that I get better with the colored pencils the more I use them. I also really like the way the background turned out. This is probably the most complicated background I've ever done and I think it has a nice, homey feel to it. Even the crappily drawn view through the doorway doesn't look so bad cus it's so small! Overall I'm very happy. I hope to continue on with my progress with this medium and these subjects as the summer goes on.

You mean that's what you expected by the title? Or did you mean you never pictured him as the 'family type'? I'm a sucker for the tough guys, and you know Raph's got a soft spot or two under that shell, so I like to exploit them for my own amusement. ^_^

Yeah, I've heard of her, but never seen the episode myself. Isn't she just a human in a costume, tho? And not a real mutant? I thought that was the twist at the end.

looks really good, i like the scar on raphs arm. However he is a little too big. from what i remember the TMNT bros were only about 5ft tall... no one is that picky but eh he just looks very big

Well according to the official website, the turtles are all 5'2" and 180 lbs, so they're pretty bulky - and more so as they get older and keep training, I figure. And in my own design, Kylee's about the same height (maybe a 1/4 inch shorter actually) and the baby's tiny cuz...she's a baby. ^_^ But yeah, I know what you mean - I've never been good at bulky guys, so they always end up a bit 'larger than life' (probably from too much DBZ influence, lol).
