The characters are from my "Space" picture. They've got a complicated relationship that involves him rescuing her from her home planet and just generally being a good influence, her having a crush on him, him being reticent in general, and him being engaged to the woman she's sworn to protect for political reasons.

This is 80% super-personal, 15% practice at detailed designs, and 5% an excuse to draw a bishie who's totally not a ripoff of Kuro Meikane. *coughcough* I think I got the detailed down with the up-close-ness. On the other hand, her shoulder ends too soon, and I tried to make him look like he was looking down with his head tilted up…but I drew his eyes as if he was looking up. Ugh. I debated giving her red hair to get a little further away from her origin in Neru, but I kept her hair the way it was because I liked their "negative image" color scheme and symbolism. The sword is there because swords are cool and for no other real reason.
