I saw a few entries for 's nobility contest, and couldn't help entering. It was a huge amount of fun CB

So, of course I couldn't resist using Monarch- by far the most graceful and noble of my characters C:

I used mostly 18th century based designs, but used different trimmings and such on different sides to display Monarch's love for dyssymetry. I also tried to give it a more fantasy-like feel using various gems and silver and gold finishings.

Name: The Wanderer, Monarch.

Gender: Female

Job: Oracle (For those who don't know, the Ancient Greeks revered oracles in their society- they were women who could communicate directly with the gods. The Oracle at Delphi is a good example. Many other cultures also have interpretations of oracles, but I tweaked it slightly to give a fantasy feel.)

Skills:

1~ Farsight: Monarch can gain glimpses of the future by using her crystal ball or meditating to perfect the link between herself and the heavens. She can foresee the outcomes of battles, predict the future of a child, etc.

2~Mouth of the Gods: Monarch takes the wish of an individual and presents it directly to the gods, to convince them to grant it. She does this by inducing an out-of-body experience and becoming a spirit (Taking the shape of a butterfly). If the gods hear her, the wish shall be granted. Monarch carries with her a flask containing a mysterious liquid to induce this state.
Note: This skill was inspired by a Native American legend I heard once- If you tell your wish to a butterfly, then your wish will come true, as the butterfly makes no sound, and therefore, can not tell of your wish to anyone but the gods.

3~Spiritual Wanderer: Monarch will occaisionally "wander" between the realms of life and death, often vanishing suddenly for days at a time and then returning, bearing messages from the deceased to their loved ones. This only happens by chance, but is often revered as a "holy power" nonetheless.

Location: A high temple at the foot of a great mountain. The air is cool and clear, though it often snows in the winter. Often butterflies will be seen flitting about the ancient and holy structure.
