I had plenty of fun with it, despite it being so dramatic XD I used plain black ballpoint to ink it, because it gives a different effect.

Awesome, the use of light and dark strokes really give depth to the picture and the positioning of the figures really the gap between them. The postures of the figures really gives insight into the characters which really completes the picture.

Stunning stark shading! The texture work on the little details are really intimate feeling. This gives me the feel of retro comic art, or classic Moebius designs. Great work, wonderful composition, great theme!

I gotta say, this is absolutely gorgeous c: *hasn't commented in foreveeeeer /fail*
What I find most interesting in this picture are their poses. While Thymel looks desperate with his arm outstreched, wanting Saik to hake his hand, Saik looks so tentative and hesitant, like she's not sure. Even though we can't see her eyes, tis pretty easy to tell her emotion through the body language, which you've done most awesomely c: Awesome job is awesome!
Also, one question: Did you do this in pure ballpoint pen or did you sketch it first?

I'm glad you paid attention to the difference in their expressions there. Very glad. It was my aim to convery their relationship, in which Thymel is desparate to "save" Saik from what he thinks he led her into, while Saik is scared to reach out to him for fear that he won't accept her like he previously used to. Of course, they hadn't had any contact with each other, from when Saik left the army and becamse a fugitive right up until she dies in the Blood-Sport, so neither of them knew how the other felt.

I sketched it first, heh. I rely on a huge amount of framework and structure to get my anatomy and posing right, so unless I'm doing just a straight bust I'll normally go through a pencil stage first.

XD Well, I like a variety of music myself, so some things to look up on Youtube are "160 BPM" from the movie Angels and Demons, "Metroid Kraid Rock Remix" and "Kingdom Hearts-Graceful Assassin" rock remix. As for songs, "I've got Friends" by Manchester Orchestra, "Riverhead" by Goldenhorse, and "Rusted from the Rain" by Billy Talent are quite awesome C:

Lord, this is so good. I love how it's set up, like Thymel being upside down while Saik is right side up or vice verse.. The details are all so interesting and amazing..and the shading in black pen makes it rather dramatic. It's great how you have Saik's mechanical bits just kind of falling apart or hooked up to different implied machinery. It's a really nice touch..
