Description
This is what happens when a non - watercolour artist insists that painting is her new-found passion. I don’t know where this need to paint comes from … but I have it ^^ I’ve been experimenting and trying to learn the medium.Thing is I’ve been feeling pretty crappy lately as I have a cold that will not go away and painting has helped me keep my mind off things and feel better. Also, another thing when you’re sick … you have a lot more time to think of life and where things are going, what are your goals, dreams … stuff like that. So, I did … even though I’m not going to share all my hopes and dreams for the future here I can share my art related ones.
Art is fun for me and that’s how I want to keep it this year. I work a full-time job so I don’t have the pressure to make everything I draw perfect and I don’t need to make a living from it. That takes off a lot of pressure and lets me enjoy the process and end product entirely ^^
This year I’m going to enjoy the art process and try to improve my skills at my own pace ^^
Also, I’m past the feeling of having to impress anyone anymore and I just want to do things for myself. Art is fun … that’s all I need ^^
That might mean that my deviant art gallery might not have so great looking or finished pieces at times but I only do this for fun and to find likeminded people to talk to and improve my skills. I’m not a professional artist, I’m still learning ^^
Now … this painting
Done using Winsor & Newton + ink on Herlitz watercolour paper
I loved painting this, it was fun, I’m quite happy with the result … sure there are a few things that I wished were different but I will work on those in my future paintings.
I really wanted to make the flowers stand out to the viewer … some people say they do, some that they don’t as much … it depends on the viewer I guess ^^
Constructive criticism is always welcome.
O.o I didn’t know I had this much to say
