hmmm, so easy for us, humans, to be superficial and too in hurry instead of discover, to dig a bit deeper within any surface that could prove maybe interesting, whatever the field, concept, vision. About "sins, quilt, fear" and so, these are "ancient terrors" of manipulation conceived by MEN to rule over the weaker.
About that scroll in little hands, it symbolizes the fulfillment and blend of new and old testament, but its only a religious symbol. We should take any kind of religious art for the sake of art in itself, with the same eyes and maybe interest we look upon egyptian, hindus, arabic, north or south american or asian religious art...
