Description (repostin something I made a while back while I wait for photoshop in other computer to work so I can finish commishes b4 weekend.)

'I drew this in mind when I read an article some weeks back (which I want to find again, but I cannot find it???) I read about one woman who took her youngest daughter to see "Princess and the Frog" . Seeing her little girl make OMG!ENCHANTED!FACE and thinking the new generation gets to have Tiana while her generation did not.
This thought made her bawww in the theater.

I also bawwww while thinking of this.

It's sad but happy at the same time.
It's kind of like when I first saw "Mulan" the first time as a little girl. I was personally moved.

...

Because all the "issues" and some flaws of this film aside, I felt the movie and Tiana were made with sincerity and love, not just something to be marketed, which is important when bringing to life a story you want to move people with.

Princess and the Frog and Tiana (c) Disney
Fanart by me (because I love this movie FFFF)

EDIT: Guys, you are seriously going to make me BAWWW (aside from all the wapanese trolling on the front comments lol) even more with all these lovely stories you're telling me about your Disney memories. If only Disney knew how much good stuff like this is what lasts with their audience ;___;

You seem in contact with the widespread beauties of this film and what it has done. As in all your art, you give a heartening range of emotions. The girl is able to see herself in a mirror of glamorous dreams. Not that she never saw herself there before but now she sees herself so much more clearly as though a smudge has washed from the entire face of the glass. And the delight of seeing herself is reflected so strongly on her and further more on her grandmother for whom the image had to be completely and personally clear the mirror as a woman. But the main focus is on the child and her expression. This is her moment and she is barely aware she's living it.

really nice done, being able to create that feeling of inmersion and awe in a kid (and adults)is what I personally strive for, and why Im doing my best to animate.

I personally would like to create that same feeling for Mexican audience, because, God! we need it.

This is such a touching piece of art, I almost cried looking at it. It really does remind me of when I was a kid and I saw Belle for the first time, dancing with the Beast. I'm glad that Disney has made a return to 2D even if it's just for one movie. Every generation needs a princess to admire and make them believe that their dreams can come true with wishes and a little hard work.

I think we've lost that. And we've lost the beauty of traditionally animated movies with solid stories and characters. There was a lot of love in this movie. I didn't see the "racism" that my friends talked about, just a good movie with quirky characters and an endearing plot. This makes me feel happy for the future!

talk about tl;dr: anyway, beautiful picture C: Thank you for posting it!

OMG I know exactly how you feel! After I watched the movie I went to the Disney Store nearby and saw all the cool Princess and the Frog merchandise like the dresses, and felt very sad, because I would have loved to have seen the movie when I was little and wear the dresses I saw at the store!XD Though I felt like a child again when I watched the movie, it still would've been cool if I had seen it when I was younger, but oh well I had Belle at least! LOL

I remember making that exact same face when I went to go watch Pochahontas (despite the historical inaccuries). Even if she wasn't hispanic I was so happy to see a Disney Princess that was brown lik me. Seeing Tiana also filled me with this emotion (and it totally helped that The Princess and the Frog came out on my birthday <33 )

you capture the scene marvelously. it's easy to get caught in it, and you get mixed with the child's feelings, it's like you're there, without any words you understand.

I've yet to see this movie it was either see this or Avatar lol.

But i can't wait to see it. Mulan was a good story but not my favorite movie. My favorite is Beauty and the Beast, Lion King (i relate to father wise), Pocahontas, the little mermaid LOL Tarzan!

In a way they all fight for what they want most (besides love) Belle fought against Gaston, Pocahontas fought for her people, Mulan for herself and her father, Jasmine for Freedom and rights outside the palace, ariel for her desire to be human etc

But my favorite nondisney movies are Anastasia, Once Upon a Forest ( ) Rats of NIMH.

I took a "which Disney princess are you" and i got Jane. one of my favorite characters.

anyways, i was moved by this piece. Its really sweet

I'm only surprised it took this long for a black princess. I wish I had that when I was a child, instead of having to feel envious over the blondes (Cinderella, Sleeping Beauty). But! I'm still a big Disney fan even nearing the age of 20, so even though its a bit late I'm glad they came up with Tiana! She's absolutely beautiful~ And you did a great job with this piece. The little girl looks euphoric :3

All I can think of is my friend Vicki (who is black). We're sitting in the midnight showing of Harry Potter when the first preview for this came out and she practically yelled, "FINALLY A BLACK PRINCESS!" Got me and the whole theatre busting a gut.

Not as emotionally moving as your picture, but I thought it was great.
