Description (repostin something I made a while back while I wait for photoshop in other computer to work so I can finish commishes b4 weekend.)

'I drew this in mind when I read an article some weeks back (which I want to find again, but I cannot find it???) I read about one woman who took her youngest daughter to see "Princess and the Frog" . Seeing her little girl make OMG!ENCHANTED!FACE and thinking the new generation gets to have Tiana while her generation did not.
This thought made her bawww in the theater.

I also bawwww while thinking of this.

It's sad but happy at the same time.
It's kind of like when I first saw "Mulan" the first time as a little girl. I was personally moved.

...

Because all the "issues" and some flaws of this film aside, I felt the movie and Tiana were made with sincerity and love, not just something to be marketed, which is important when bringing to life a story you want to move people with.

Princess and the Frog and Tiana (c) Disney
Fanart by me (because I love this movie FFFF)

EDIT: Guys, you are seriously going to make me BAWWW (aside from all the wapanese trolling on the front comments lol) even more with all these lovely stories you're telling me about your Disney memories. If only Disney knew how much good stuff like this is what lasts with their audience ;___;

Oh my, her face! Her totally enlightened face! Just so touching!

Disney has changed my life. They influence my imagination and the way I see the world today. Sometimes I feel like there truly is magic and adventure and love out there somewhere. Disney inspires. Probably much more than they ever could have dreamed.

I totally get it! When I first watched Aladdin, I was quite glad they had a Middle Easternish princess (even if she WAS wearing very little clothes but then again the princesses were sequestered in their own wings in the palaces guarded by eunuchs so eh they could wear what they want).

Having a dark haired dark eyed princess rather than the blond blue eyes combo was I dunno touching. I had someone I could dress up as and not feel so left out. Also hearing the Sultan say "Allah forbid" a phrase heard often in my household back then was great. :d

So yeah, I love PatF because to some little girls Tiana is going to be their Jasmine.

Great picture!

Gawd it's so true. When my friend and I went to see it there was a little girl who was standing and jumping up and down in excitement at one of the last scenes. I don't even REMEMBER seeing the movies in the theater. But I had tons of Disney's movies at home, so I still get insane nostalgia feelings from them every time.

I can't believe I haven't commented on this yet!

It was weird seeing a 2D animated movie in theatres. I'm so used to just watching them at home. You should have seen my brother (who's in his 20's) reaction when I showed him the trailer:

Him: It's 2D animated!?
Me: Yep!
Him: And it's being released in theatres!?
Me: Yep!
Him: I thought they didn't make them anymore!

Just the utter joy in his voice was really sweet.

And then when we saw it on opening day, we were really disappointed when there weren't that many people in the theatre. There was only me, him, his girlfriend, and a group of about 3-4 teenage girls. But before the movie started a little girl dressed up as a princess and her parents came in. It was just too cute!

The expression you got on her face reminds me of watching Disney movies when I was younger... *reminiscing* I'm glad that Disney made another movie that could follow in the 2d legacy it left. This is really great!!

Dude, I found this movie to be made for tons of people, not just a section of us. (I'm Mayo White and Gothy, and thought that this movie was indeed the bee's knees) It just goes to show that if enoughlove is put into something, it'll make people smile.

Oh beautiful Tiana! Love that dress, and I must agree with a friend of mine who thought it was stupid she didn't wear it at their human-wedding as well.

Also, I believe this was my expression when watching Beauty and the Beast for the first time, or at least my Mum described it alike this. It was at home though, not in the cinema. But I don't think that made it a less enchanting moment for young me, because it has stayed with me throughout the years (and my reaction made it Mum’s favourite Disney-movie as well. ) I still get goosebumps when watching it.

I remember my favourite Disney movie moments. I'm lucky enough that I was young in the 90s' so I had the era of great Disney movies like 'Little Mermaid', 'Beauty and the Beast', 'Aladdin' and the 'Lion King'.

My first 'Mesmerised' moment, was when Belle came down the stairs in that yellow dress. It was stunning and she is an amazing character.

Beauty and the Beast was the theme for my 4th birthday. My Mum even bought the yellow dress.

Anyways, i love the little girls expression! She is just darling.

I can relate to the excitement to that little girl seeing Tiana for the first time, and I'm an adult. I waited most of my life for an African-American Disney princess and while it was great having Jasmine, Pocahantas, Kida and Mulan on the screen something was kinda missing from the line-up of smart, beautiful women/princesses. It doesn't matter how old you are, when you see a Disney princess shine, you pause.

I think that any Disney movie would make people feel good on the inside. I feel for kids who're hypnotized by the shitty tween crap that's given to us nowadays. But atleast they're going back to what Disney was meant to be.
