Description (repostin something I made a while back while I wait for photoshop in other computer to work so I can finish commishes b4 weekend.)

'I drew this in mind when I read an article some weeks back (which I want to find again, but I cannot find it???) I read about one woman who took her youngest daughter to see "Princess and the Frog" . Seeing her little girl make OMG!ENCHANTED!FACE and thinking the new generation gets to have Tiana while her generation did not.
This thought made her bawww in the theater.

I also bawwww while thinking of this.

It's sad but happy at the same time.
It's kind of like when I first saw "Mulan" the first time as a little girl. I was personally moved.

...

Because all the "issues" and some flaws of this film aside, I felt the movie and Tiana were made with sincerity and love, not just something to be marketed, which is important when bringing to life a story you want to move people with.

Princess and the Frog and Tiana (c) Disney
Fanart by me (because I love this movie FFFF)

EDIT: Guys, you are seriously going to make me BAWWW (aside from all the wapanese trolling on the front comments lol) even more with all these lovely stories you're telling me about your Disney memories. If only Disney knew how much good stuff like this is what lasts with their audience ;___;

I had the same look on my face as that little girl the whole time and it also made me cry as all good Disney movies have. [Despite being almost 18 XD]

I didn't go bawww as much as go 'squee' with utter joy at the animation and heart packed into the movie. I just thought to myself Tiana's friend was like the personification of all the Disney animators when they realized they were going back to 2d, just hyper happiness all around X3.

Such a beautiful picture...

I think the one Disney Princess I related to most was Ariel. She's a red head (like myself), has a lot of sisters ( I have four, of which I'm second-youngest) and I have a lot of stuff!!! I'm a bit of a collector myself.

Plus other things (that I won't go into here), but Ariel is the Princess I relate to the most.

Every little girl needs a character they can relate to...

The girl's expression is soo tender! You can actually see its eyes glowing in enchantment! I guess that's the best of Disney classics. No matter how old are you, when you see one of these fabulous stories, you feel like you're a kid again, that there's only a blank page in your future where every wonderful story, full of adventures, magic, mysteries and, of course, real and true love can happen.

Aw, this reminds me of the first time my mum showed me Beauty and the Beast... before that I thought I was weird for being a scrawny brunette bookworm. But Belle taught me that I could be so much more than that. Awww, I'm getting all sentimental! Beautiful piece!

Hahaha! I saw that movie just a few hours ago after so much years! Belle has always been my favorite, even before I started to love books the way I do now. The bookworm fever came later and it took me some years to realize that I was doing just like Belle haha! Maybe it was something in my subconscious

In Disney World you can take that for sure. It's so funny when, eventually, there's a lady all excited taking pictures with a princess or wearing a big sweater or t-shirt of her favorite classic princess. Not only little girls are fans

Gawd this made me smile
Recently I'd been annoyed at Disney because I felt there was something missing. There were no more AMAZING ASTOUNDING movies with great morals. And then this movie came out and it was like I was seven again, watching The Little Mermaid for the umpteenth time. This is such a beautiful movie.
And your comic just completely highlighted my day. At one point during the movie, I took a quick peek around at all the little girls around me and the little girl's face here is exactly what I saw on every one of those faces.
Beautiful artwork!

This reminds me of growing up watching Beauty and the Beast and how Belle made me feel secure in having my nose in a book everywhere I went. ^-^ Tiana is one of those role-models that will make an impact on girls.

I remember the same expression on my face the first time I watched "Mulan". To this day it remains one of my favorite movies and Mulan remains a role model to me because she was brave, smart, strong, and even though she wasn't naturally physically strong, she made herself become so.

ShadowsAndLight In reply to ??? [2010-01-16 00:34:50 +0000 UTC]

This is such a cute comic. Tiana means a lot to girls, I'm sure. I remember loving Belle to pieces (I still do this) because she was like me: average, brown haired, brown eyed and reading books like it's nobody's business. It's nice to have someone to identify with when you're little.

Ironically, I look just like this girl when I was about 6 or so. Except I had huge coke bottle glasses. So I was like a black Chuckie, haha!

K0R2N3H In reply to ??? [2010-01-16 00:28:51 +0000 UTC]

When I was younger I knew it would take a long time for Disney to make a black hero or heroine, but when they finally did, I was awestruck.

Sure there are some story flaws, but the heart of the movie makes up for it and I'm glad Disney took the risk.

Deep inside, that's just how I felt when I went to see the movie with my brother. I felt like we were kids again watching another Disney movie in animation. To me, it was wonderful to have a princess like Tiana.

Years back, I didn't think of how different every Disney princess was from me, but knew if I wanted to be one then I can be one. The story to the Princess and the Frog was enchanting and well written. I liked the idea of introducing the history about New Orleans; plus the moral lesson to the story.

Wonderful artwork hun. It's like I'm looking at myself from that picture...yet I didn't have glasses than. (I do now XD)

This is so touching! As weird as it might sound, I know for a fact that my expression resembled the little girls at parts in the movie(Especially the Finale!) and also resembled the mom's(as I watched other kidsXD. Since I'm 15, I'm still quite kidless).
Well anyhoo, This is a really amazing picture! I thank you for making it.

2D animation! hahaha! and I thought that Disney had closed it's 2D animation studios! In fact, I saw that on a documentary played at Cinemax called "The Pixar Story". So this is strange, but definitely wonderful! There's a kind of enchantment in the artistry of 2D animation that the CG graphics can't grab -not now, at least
