Description
(repostin something I made a while back while I wait for photoshop in other computer to work so I can finish commishes b4 weekend.)'I drew this in mind when I read an article some weeks back (which I want to find again, but I cannot find it???) I read about one woman who took her youngest daughter to see "Princess and the Frog" . Seeing her little girl make OMG!ENCHANTED!FACE and thinking the new generation gets to have Tiana while her generation did not.
This thought made her bawww in the theater.
I also bawwww while thinking of this.
It's sad but happy at the same time.
It's kind of like when I first saw "Mulan" the first time as a little girl. I was personally moved.
...
Because all the "issues" and some flaws of this film aside, I felt the movie and Tiana were made with sincerity and love, not just something to be marketed, which is important when bringing to life a story you want to move people with.
Princess and the Frog and Tiana (c) Disney
Fanart by me (because I love this movie FFFF)
EDIT: Guys, you are seriously going to make me BAWWW (aside from all the wapanese trolling on the front comments lol) even more with all these lovely stories you're telling me about your Disney memories.

Its wonderful to think that a new generation has Tiana as a role model.
When I was young, even now, Ariel was who I always adored, even as a boy. Headstrong, determined and didn't sit around waiting for her dream to come true. I see a similarity with Tiana there.

I LOVE this!! And it's so true! The movie was so amazing and it was easy to tell that everyone in the theater enjoyed it as much as me I love Disney animation and I'm so happy I got to take my little cousins to see it theaters!

You just made me sing "Part of your world" from the little Mermaid with tears in my eyes, because this is my Disney childhood memory. I remember watching the film about 10 times, literally one time after the other.
CanΒ΄t wait to see "Princess and the frog"!
(The little Mermaid, by the way, was called "Ariel" in German because there exists a detergent with the name of "Ariel" - not to be confused)

I should read my posts before sending them:
The mermaid was called "Arielle" instead of "Ariel" in German.
Hope this makes more sense now.

Princess and the Frog brings tears to my eyes every time i hear the song "Dig a little Deeper". It's just one of those pieces whose lyrics will always stick with me.
I think this was the first animated movie since Hercules and Beauty and the Beast that actually made me revert back to being a giddy little kid.

*sniffle* Makes me remember when my parents took me to see Beauty & the Beast for my 5th birthday (wow, I just dated myself. you're freaking old Celtic). I fell so in love with teh character of Belle, adn to this day she remains a strong role model for me: fiesty, brainy and capable of saving her man(beast) and not the other way around!
I'm a huge fan of this newest addition to the "Princess" club (not to mention the side kicks. Ray is officially the awesomest bug ever. I mean come on his Butt freakin' GLOWS!)and your lovely fanart makes me want to be a kid again. Thank you for reviving hte magic of Disney!
(also am I the only one who's totally in love with the credit song? Props to Ne-Yo, "Never Knew I Needed" is a really good song imo.)

I loved Belle so much when she came out because she was the first that I could identify with so strongly. She was smart and well-read but a bit strange as well. She didn't really fit in. And she was tough. She didn't put up with any of the Beast's rubbish.
I'm so glad that a new generation is getting that experience cause Tiana is a really awesome character. Her strength and determination is so admirable.

I hope Disney keeps making these movies, if only for things like this.
I'm 25 and I was OMG!ENCHANTED!FACE-ing all through the movie, too. Especially at that dress. THAT DRESS.
(although my princess was Ariel, waaaaay back in 1989. XD)

I was so excited when this movie came out, I convinced my parents that, since it'd been a solid decade since the last time we all went to a Disney movie together, they should come see it with me. It was worth it to see my mom--teary-eyed and smiling--reach for my dad's hand near the end of the movie.
From my sister's lifelong love affair with "Seeping Bertie" to the chorus of 'just around the riverbend!' that still breaks out every time one of us gets within thirty feet of a canoe, Disney's been a beloved, faithful part of my family memories. I'm glad that their movies have meant something to you, too, and that you chose to share with us.

This is so effing adorable! Both the little girl and her OMG!ENCHANTED!FACE, and her grandmother's knowing glance.
Tiana's panel is excellent too. All that golden light in the background adds to the 'OMG!ENCHANTED!FACE' factor.
I don't have a touching disney princess story, but that may be because I'm a boy.

My favourite princess is Belle because I love reading and I daydream a lot, so I related the most to her. I was happy they had someone like her on screen. Besides, it was a fun movie too.
I haven't seen this one yet, but I hope I can soon. Looks good, and I'm so happy it's all 2D animation. The last film that was fully rendered by hand was Pocahontas. I'm glad they're going back to their roots.

And that right there, in a nutshell, putting aside all the flaws and all the issues the film has, is what it's all about
If these films make kids happy...inspire them to have dreams, and encourage them to imagine a better world, then that's more than worth the price of admission and a few hiccups in the mind of cinema snobs and cynics (like me!).
This pic make me look more favourably on the film (not that i hated it or anything), but really you've shoved aside a lot of opposition to this film pointing out what should be obvious. Nicely done, i bow to you!

Aww. I love this! It's so sweet and touching. You conveyed the little girl and her mother's emotions so well and this is very well drawn. That little girl is very fortunate. She gets to see the face of a princess of the same race smiling back at her. Thank goodness Disney finally created a black princess. It took them long enough, huh?

My cousin who's a little princess has all the stuff but doesn't even know who they are. When this comes to sweden I'm gonna take her there so she can be a "true" princess. c:

This truly is a touching image--my favorite part has got to be the little girl's face in the last panel, her cheeks framed by petite, adoring hands even as her eyes get increasingly wider. To match the smile spreading across her face.
You have a way with images that touches just as much as the movie itself did.
Brilliant job. *favorites*
