I was recently criticized for not showing enough diversity in my artwork when it comes to the female figure :/ First and foremost let me just say that I think that women are some of the most powerful and amazing creatures in the world, truly! And while I will admit, I do LOVE drawing the "pear shaped" figure the most, I honestly love all shapes and sizes of the female figure. From average, to pear, to boyish, to curvy, to plus sized, to petite, to banana (whatever the hell that is
) I honestly love them all, and i'd hate to think that anyone out there feels any different.So thus-ly, I promise to start showing more diversity in my works

Now that's art. Β There is a distinction between "sexiness" (an arbitrary standard that changes with the wind) and true beauty. Β We place too much value on the former and not enough on the latter in our society. Β Not that sexiness is bad. Β But we should never ever let it take priority over true beauty. Β Sexiness is superficial. Β Beauty is much deeper and longer lasting. Β And the whole point of art is to capture beauty. Β Its primary purpose should never be to merely physically arouse people temporarily. Β It should instead leave them with a sense of awe and gratitude for what we've been given.
You've accomplished that with this fairly simple yet powerful drawing. Β Instead of objectifying women as the world does, you celebrate them. Β You also demonstrate a mastery of the human figure that I have yet to achieve myself.

My husband and I debated on what type I am. I think T with more of a belly. He thinks maybe I but hips aren't big enough. E is probably the absolute closest if her arms were more muscular.
Not criticizing just think it's nice to compare myself to them. Obivously there are an infinete number of body shapes out there but you have a nice selection here. I think this picture would be a great inspirational picture at like a gym or something.
