Everytime i see that eye scar I can't help but think that HURT like a mother. He's probably got a bionic eye now doesn't he?

Nope. Almost did, though. In the storyline, he caught the blade of a brute spiker just over his eye, though the lid was shut, and most of the damage was from the blade scraping his cheekbone under the eye. REALLY narrow miss. Really lucky.

In the storyline, actually, he got it protecting Halley... she was hacking the Covenant computer systems and the brute snuck in behind; John saw at the last second and dove in the way. He's so brave.
