I'm being hypothetical about why people reacted negatively. If you didn't have feeling about it you wouldn't be continuing this debate. "Violation of artistic freedom?" Hardly. I enjoyed the mudkip invasion as much as it annoyed me, it was funny, we all ranted and raved about it and now mudkips are a DA community joke. April fools had it's intended effect.
It's people like you who want to harp on people "taking it too seriously" that are taking it too seriously.
