I don’t really get why people talk like Gaara not being a dad is a sad thing. I’m pretty sure he’s more than fine with just being an uncle, because now he gets to be like a Yashamaru for someone else! 8)
PS: Screw you, Gaara’s dad, you were awful.
PS2: I'm still not used to his new haircut, dammit.

It took me a moment to realize that he prefers to be and uncle because his uncle was nice to him while and not a dad because he fears his kids will think he'll try to kill them like his father kept on trying to kill him, at first I thought that he was just thinking a good and bad memory

At first when I saw that everyone in their year had kids except gaara, killer bee, shino, kankuro, omio and kiba it got too real I went into denial, I said to myself they have kids on the way or they're just fu*king everyone maybe both. ...so to see this for gaara gives me some satisfaction XDXDXD

No one will get used to his Sheldon haircut. If you're living in a motherloving dessert it's natural and sexy to have windswept hair. Not the perfectly combed brilliantine head.

As a bussinessman/military leader/uncle he has plenty of reasons to support that "Erwin Smith" hair but it doesn't change the fact that it looks ugly as heck specially on him. Even his father -may not any tensei justu wakes him up ever- had rocked the windswept hair to the last moment.

Personally, I hate GaaMatsu with a passion because there's just.... NO chemistry between them? All I see is a hormonal fangirl drooling over how hot he is. And I think he really deserves better after all he's been through. It's like they're forcing them together so they can say Gaara is heterosexual, which is pretty... stupid, if you ask me. But hey, apparently, ANYTHING's better than a happy, well assorted gay couple or ending up single. =_=

Agreed. I was HAPPY to see him single at the end of the manga, it just suits him so much better. He never seemed like the romance-oriented type of guy to me. Plus, he got what he always wanted: friends, respect, a united family. Why give him a wife and children when he clearly doesn't need it? Urgh...

I believe studio Pierrot will destroy his character like they did with everyone else, pair him up with Matsuri (oh god WHY...) and possibly give him a family of his own.
It may be an unpopular opinion, but I think that would REALLY ruin who he essentially is. I simply CAN'T imagine Gaara being in such a set-up without being completely OOC. Ugh...

I seriously HATE what Studio Pierrot is doing, they're messing everything up and they constantly contradict things that happened in canon.
It's like they're throwing years of character development in the garbage just so random straight pairings can happen.

I don't think the Naruto world itself is heteronormative or homophobic seeing all the gay jokes they made throughout the series. (Plus, come on... some characters just SCREAM gay, or at least bisexual. Ending up in a canon hetero pairing will not convince me otherwise.)
But it's almost like the editor asked the creator to keep everybody straight, if that makes sense. Which really sucks, if you ask me. :/

I agree with you there. There are some characters I just cannot believe are straight, and so won't be in my pilotverse. And as for 700, I have heard speculation that Kishi was coerced into writing it/doing the art for it so as to connect with The Last and some new mini-series coming up...

Me neither. The bonds between some of the characters of the same gender are much too strong to be called "just bros". Plus, some of them have showed absolutely NO interest in people of the opposite sex throughout the WHOLE series. Naruto was the only person constantly on Sasuke's mind until the last two chapters, then he MAGICALLY loved Sakura. :/
And Gaara has stated more than once that the only three people who really influenced his life are Sasuke, Naruto and Lee. Yet Studio Pierrot is going out of its way to pair him up with Matsuri, a filler character who has absolutely NO purpose aside from fangirling over him. She was only there for TWO PAGES in the original plot. I mean... Really???
Oh my god... If I were writing a story and an editor or studio changed everything I wanted to do with it for the sake of money, I'd be PISSED OFF like you wouldn't believe. He should have the right to end it the way he wants.

I would probably sue for complete creative control. Of course, Shonen Jump/Studio Pierrot/whoever prolly had Kishi sign a contract to prevent that...
There will be two characters I know I won't include: Indra and Asura Ōtsutsuki. In my 'verse, Hagoromo will refuse to bring children into the world because he fears what Kaguya will do to her prodigal grandchildren just for being his children. Also, his legacy will be split between the Hyūga and the Uchiha rather than the Senju and the Uchiha--I always felt that that would've made more sense, considering the Rinnegan's appearance. And that's not all I change about the God of Shinobi...

I mean even if his dad did say sorry before Gaara killed him when he was re-animated....Gaara still has to live with all those scars of his past...And really, it just makes it worse because Gaara's entire life of insanity prior turned out to be just an elaborate lie by his father trying to break him down and kill him.. :/
