Hello folks,i struggled a long time with the mysterios 8-head-rule and finally understand what it want to teach me... at least i hope i have. I hope this tutorial may help you a bit on your epic quest of drawing humans :3

How I always learned it was: Anime styles usually use 6 - 7 heads. Normal proportions are 7 - 8 heads. Heroic proportions are 8 - 9 heads.

I'd always learned it as 7 and a half heads for realism, and 8 for comic books and other heroic figures. But this is great how you've shown a lot more of the relationships of scale on the human body.

Yes, i read that somewhere too but didn't remember it when i picked a photo as reference. So i decided to stick with the realism 7 1/2 Heads type. I though about making one about "real" 8 head, too?
