This is the measurement chart and sheet I drew up for my workshop at Otakon 2011- I'm putting it up here in case anyone here wants it.

This measurement sheet is based off of one I stole from my friend Tessa, who stole it from someone else, who stole it from someone else... No one actually remembers who first wrote it up, so you guys can feel free to steal it, too. Surprisingly, what measurements you take and use is actually quite a bit of personal preference, so you should add and remove measurements as you see fit. Also, very few costumes will actually need all of them.

The chart I drew up sort of quickly, so if there's anything you don't quite get, let me know and I'll try to clarify. It doesn't include every last one of the measurements on the sheet, but it has most of them (and the ones I left out are pretty easy to figure out).

Some tips for taking measurements:
-Never take measurements on yourself. They will not be accurate.
-Take all one-sided measurements on the dominant side.
-Round up. Better too big than too small.
For the person being measured:
-Wear loose, light clothing.
-Wear all appropriate undergarments (ex.: stays and corsets, bindings for female crossplayers, etc.).
-Stand up straight and tall and breathe normally. Don't "suck it in" or hold your breath. Keep your arms at your sides unless otherwise instructed.
