It's not. Pretty much you just shade lightly, then shade lightly again, and on and on till you have what you want.

Amazing tutorial so far! I shall use this in the near future. Also, better color choice; I can read the words more clearly.

Wow. Very descriptive.
I am enlightened! *heavenly "ah" please!*
Of course, I would probably have to figure out how to draw a face before I shade it, huh?

"Ahhhhhhβ¦" <--Heavenly? Thank you. If you look at my first tutorial, near the end it has different ways to draw a face (using a reference anyway).

Yes, it is Amber, I'm amazed you could actually read that. My mouse skills are poorly lacking.

lolz. i agree. drawing and writing on the computer is almost impossible. i tried again today - writing my name i mean - the results were so bad that i wont even describe it. honest. the 'm' in my name turned out a random squiqqle

That makes me think of Fred from Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix. If you look really closely when Fred is signing up for Dumbledore's Army, you can see his signature, it's really funny.

I think he makes it look that way on purpose. It's great because you see George's name right above his and George's is nice and neat and then you have Fred's and you're likeβ¦Β huh? who's signed this?

HeartFullOfLove [2009-01-04 17:53:23 +0000 UTC]
WOW! Oh my gosh! you are amazing! that's such a great tutorial... I wanna try to draw him now! *searches for sketchbook* I appreciate how you took us through very slowly and thoroughly, with pics for EVERY step. I used to use those "learn how to draw" books as a kid, and they always did like 10 ten steps per picture, and you just stare at it and go "how did they get from two circles to a horse head???" Also, I like the explanations you gave: not just "it's dark here and light here", but elucidating why the lighting is the way it is! You should make how to draw books.... I'd buy them. You are a maestro
Well done, I am impressed!
