Description In my long career, sat at the left hand of the God-Emperor, I have been granted many, many honors for valor, bravery, etc...
Nah, who am I kidding. These are black market relics, stolen from tombs and private museums, to be sold on to wealthy, but discreet, collectors in the spires and palaces of the Calaxis sector.

==========================================

So this is the full collection of Purity Seals I have made along with a Commissars cap badge.
I repainted my first couple and have recently created four more. Looking at them its pretty easy to see the different 'generations' but they get better as they go along so I'm not complaining!
Not sure what to do with them so I'll probably put together a box frame and stick 'em up on the wall.

nice seals... id kill to make some but lack of good easy to acquire materials isnt making them easy to make. best thing i can find was modeling clay for kids and some good paper. just dont know exactly what to do to make em into a seal and ive seen plenty of HOW TOs of them but cant decide which one to choose. your work seems like a nice easy one to make and would love to know how to do it

Awesome purity seals. All original sculpts, or did you cast a mold?

Wow! Really impressed. I'm going to use them as examples for the purity seal that I'm putting on my chainsword. Does the writing on them mean anything, or is it just Latin text?

๐Ÿ‘: 0 โฉ: 1

Isinglass-Industries In reply to archi-monkey89 [2011-09-18 06:57:41 +0000 UTC]

Thank you!
The writing is a real mixture. Some of the text is real Latin phrases, usually traditional sayings with a 40K feel to them. There are plenty of sites with extensive lists. Occasionally there's some stupid phrase in there too, like, "Machina improba! Vel mihi ede potum vel mihi redde nummos meos" meaning "Infernal Machine, give me my beverage or return my money!"

Some is just gibberish that I generated with a lorem ipsum generator. They really help when you have a lot of space to fill. [link]

Do it! They are great fun to make once you get stuck in and I get a childish kick out of writing strange messages on them in Latin

I checked out your gallery and have to say that you've put together the best Witch Hunter outfit I've seen! Awesome work. I'm going to watch your page, looking forward to seeing what you'll do next.

lol, I remembered this and just stopped by to let you know I'm now a hilarious and sneaky inquisitor. Hooray for roleplaying.

And as for the sale of illegally acquired commendations, I'm afraid I'm going to have to pull out my stamp.

Oh no, run afoul of the Inquisition! Does my Warrant of Trade cover this? Love the heresy stamp, it made me laugh so much

40K role playing is a lot of fun, I GM an inquisitor game for my group! So whats your game/character like?

๐Ÿ‘: 0 โฉ: 1

OrdonCrane In reply to Isinglass-Industries [2010-07-21 23:40:47 +0000 UTC]

I'm afraid not, merchant. You are selling decorations of honor to those who have not earned them. Speaking of which, how did they come into YOUR possession, merchant?

lol, well there's a bit to him. Did you just want to know his personality? Or did you want the in depth character thing? He's got a personality, history, fighting style, habits, and custom equipment, so yeah.

Ummmm... they were just... Oh! Look over there! *runs away*

I'm just curious about what sort of character your playing, I always enjoy hearing about hearing about peoples role-playing campaigns and characters. I can't get enough of stories and sometimes it gives me ideas for my own games!

OrdonCrane In reply to Isinglass-Industries [2010-07-24 19:30:47 +0000 UTC]

HEY, GET BACK HERE!

lol, okay, here's a bit on him. He's unconventional in a lot of ways, such as the fact that he carved down a power sword into a walking cane, so now he uses that as an unexpected weapon. He wears light armor, his original set taken from plates of his old master's power armor. He's currently on his 3rd armored coat, the first having be put to rest (the one with his master's armor attached to it), the second having been dropped after being shot be a necron, so that he wouldn't disentigrate. He collects alien technology, and so often goes easy on people using alien tech or working with aliens as long as the Imperium got the better side of the deal/trade. He hates Chaos unforgivingly, though. He's quite logical, and people have speculated he doesn't believe in the Imperial Cult since he never calls the Emperor God-Emperor. His coat has a single armored shoulder, over his right arm, which he weilds his power cane with, has a back flap of fabric that hides an armored plate to protect his back, and the collar of his coat has imbedded armor as well, presumably to help block decap attempts. He also carries a force knife and a hellpistol, though he rarely uses the gun in combat. He uses smoke/blind grenades to cover himself as he charges the enemy, then attacks with his close combat weapons. He sometimes also uses the grenade to make the enemy look in the direction he is not coming from. His most common way to destroy armored targets is to slice the armor with his cane, then stab the force knife in and shoot energy into the inside of the target. His most common use of his psychic abilities is to make people he stares at feel fear.

Sounds like you've really put some thought into him! How long have you been playing in your campaign? Any good adventures?

๐Ÿ‘: 0 โฉ: 1

OrdonCrane In reply to Isinglass-Industries [2010-07-26 21:20:04 +0000 UTC]

Oh heck, I dunno how long it's been. I moved, sadly, so I no longer have access to my old group. I'm reading the manuals again, and I hope to start up a group around here some time. As for interesting stories, the necron one happened. We were backing up the IG. We couldn't beat them, though, so the fleet had to to destroy them or we all would have died. ><
I think I developed the force knife finisher while fighting chaos once. Most of our big army fights is use backing up the Imps when a planet is being attacked. Never fought Tyrannids, though. We lost our slow heavy guy during the necron fight, so he made an Adept character that he trained to fight because he could. Our running joke was that the character put the Adept in Adeptus Astartes.

Isinglass-Industries In reply to OrdonCrane [2010-07-27 22:42:30 +0000 UTC]

Sounds like you guys had a lot of fun! I've not used Necrons on my players yet, saving them for something special, and no doubt deadly!
Are you going to GM as and when you get a new group together or play?

Its a shame when geography gets in the way of a good game. I'm not looking forward to saying goodbye to my group when I move.

๐Ÿ‘: 0 โฉ: 1

OrdonCrane In reply to Isinglass-Industries [2010-07-28 00:06:47 +0000 UTC]

Yeah, it was great fun. I'm probably gonna have to GM cuz I don't know anyone 'round here who'd have the patience to come up with a game and keep track of it all, which is kinda sad. But hey, I may make my inquisitor their boss in the beginning or something, so tie ins are always fun.
And yeah, it's kinda sucky, but what're you gonna do, right? I was actually trying to think of a way to set up an online game, but it won't be as fun.

๐Ÿ‘: 0 โฉ: 1

Isinglass-Industries In reply to OrdonCrane [2010-07-30 20:03:34 +0000 UTC]

I love making links and tie ins between games. Npcs turning up again and the like is a lot of fun especially if one of your old players joins in for a game. They already have a history.

I imagine that you'd lose a lot of comunication playing online. Are you thinking of video/chat or forum based?

๐Ÿ‘: 0 โฉ: 1

OrdonCrane In reply to Isinglass-Industries [2010-07-30 20:20:45 +0000 UTC]

Seeing as I don't know many people with video chat, it would have to be forum or IM based, but as you said, yeah, you'd lose a lot of the spontaniety that makes the game so fun. You can roll dice online, but otherwise it's not really possible without a vidchat, or just a regular chat, at least.

As for the crossover thing, yeah, prior relations are fun, like having an NPC not want to talk around someone. Then all the new players start trying to guess why and find out the player shot the NPC or something. XD

๐Ÿ‘: 0 โฉ: 1

Isinglass-Industries In reply to OrdonCrane [2010-08-04 10:42:00 +0000 UTC]

Even without the video I think live chat would trump text based every time. You could always try Skype, I use it to chat with my fiance and its a good service and of course its free! I think there's even a dice rolling addon for it.
Of course getting everyone together at the same time is, as always, still a problem

Definitely, it really builds the idea that the game world is bigger than just the current players and that things happen while they're not there.

ahh cool, did you make your own seal(stamp) or use a clay cutting tool to form the symbols in the plastic?
guess Iยดm a sucker for Purity seals!! haha

I made stamps for these. Some worked better than others but I can make extra seals really easily if I ever need to.

๐Ÿ‘: 0 โฉ: 0

Raazorfiend [2010-05-17 19:02:47 +0000 UTC]

nice did you use wax for the seal itself or something else?

Isinglass-Industries In reply to Raazorfiend [2010-05-22 22:40:38 +0000 UTC]

I did try wax but it didn't work out very well. These are made from Fimo (oven hardening plastic) or air drying clay.
