Long time ago I saw a dream where deer’s hide was ”alive” and moved every time no one was looking at it. I draw a moose’s hide just because it is bigger and more freaky.Related content

Yes indeed, they can mimic the voices of people to lure unsuspecting victims far into the densestpart of the woods. No one would hear your cries for help, by time you try to run you already have deer man monster on your back chasing you.
It is one to be a bad spirit of the land before the European colonists came. They too also say seeing this thing and marked it as a demon.

Yup same in my land. Im a Mexican of Aztec blood, when Spaniards came and saw some of our spirit creatures like Ahuizotl they marked it as demon.

Wendigos were more like, shape-shifters, taking on the appearance of those they possesed when around people, but alone they take on numerous yet similar body forms.
From sharp fanged, psychopathic cannibals, to gaunt, gangly, pale-skinned zombie-esque humans with sharp pointed teeth, to almost an Anthropomorphic deer like structure, yet seemingly undead with bits & pieces of it looking like they were chewed off.
In some depictions it's head is basically a Deer skull with the fangs of a wolf, a human like body structure that looks like a rotted, partially eaten deer carcass, & can either have human-like feet or deer's hooves on it's hind limbs.
Some of it's abilities are scary as well, like the ability to levitate & fly without wings, running on or transforming into the wind, the ability to walk through space & time, the ability to posses others, shape-shifting, weather manipulation (such as creating blinding snow storms & blizzards), the ability to turn night into day & vice-versa, & the ability to cast illusions, vocal mimicry (the ability to sound like someone you know, such as family or friends), etc. etc.
They say if you look at a wendigo while it's trying to hide, or stare it eye-to-eye, it will hunt you down for the rest of your life until it gets you, or that if you listen to their whipers as they try to get your attention, they will try to kill &/or posses you.
One way to kill a wendigo, or so I've heard, is a very complicated one,
Step #1. Stab it in the heart with a silver stake
Step #2. Take the shattered remains of it's icy heart & lock them away in a silver box, then cover the box with salt
Step #3. Chop up the remains of it's body with a silver axe.
Step #4. Create circles around each individual piece of chopped body part with salt, then light the parts on fire
Step #5. take the ashes of those parts to the highest area in the land, then scatter them to the four winds.
It's a pretty difficult & complicated task.
So some good procedures to follow, stay away from any screams or sounds at night, do NOT look at the wendigo, or even acknowledge it's existence, do NOT answer to it's calls or listen to what it has to say. Never go into the woods during a blizzard, snow storm, or travel through unfamiliar woods during winter or at night, if you feel like one could be to close, light a flare or fire torch because Wendigos don't want the risk if their icy hearts to melt, or they are afraid of fire (I'm a little if-fy on that part).

Well I love learning about animals, prehistoric life, & mythical/cryptid animals! Your welcome! There's actually an artist here that makes art of prehistoric animals, just recently or never even heard of before! From a Komodo Dragon-sized lizard-like reptile with the horns of a ceratopsid dinosaur, to a fiddler crab whose largest claw was as long as a computer keyboard!
