Thank you so much for your comment. I am glad you liked my work. I like Norway, but there are of course things that can be improved here as well. The great nature is the best, though, I think.

JESUS! How long did this take!

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

IT-Hammar In reply to titan57 [2009-10-06 17:58:44 +0000 UTC]

About half a year. Although I have no idea about the actual time I spent on it actively, as I ran out of the right ink when on holiday in Italy, and didn't find it before later that fall when I moved to Oslo. So, there was a big pause, and of course I worked on it a lot on and off. It is no doubt the work I have spent most time on, though

This is amazing!!! It's gonna get a DD some day, I'm sure. It looks like a classic DorΓ© illustration, made better.

Seriously impressive! You're talented beyond belief. You'll go far!

More!

IT-Hammar In reply to ForgetfulRainn [2009-07-14 21:02:46 +0000 UTC]

You really think so? You should suggest it. Wow, considering you brought DorΓ© into the subject is a huge compliment! When it comes to drawing, he is certainly my idol, so to speak. He is absolutely amazing, or.. was. Thanks again!

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

ForgetfulRainn In reply to IT-Hammar [2009-07-14 22:27:25 +0000 UTC]

I already suggested it! Right after I wrote this comment.

And yeah, DorΓ© was the first thing I thought of! I have a book of his illustrations for Dante's Divine Comedy; and knowing other classic illustrations, your work has that feeling! It's totally magnificent. If I ever make it as an author and want an illustrated edition, I'll be sure to remember you!

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

IT-Hammar In reply to ForgetfulRainn [2009-07-15 09:04:43 +0000 UTC]

WOw, you're kidding!
Actually, I have got his illustrations too. Two books, in fact. I bought the illustrations for the Divine Comedy first, and then I bought a larger book with more of his drawings, including those of the divine comedy. It is called "The drawings of Gustave DorΓ©", and it is probably one of the most precious books in my bookshelf. When it comes to illustrations, I have wanted to work wil illustration for a while, because it would be an excellent job on the side of doing my own stuff. One of my drawings is going to be on a CD cover in a while, if everything works out for the band, and I already got one of my paintings on a book cover, although not on commission. I'd love to illustrate for you when the time comes!

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

ForgetfulRainn In reply to IT-Hammar [2009-07-15 18:57:36 +0000 UTC]

Awesome!!!

I see DorΓ©'s work often, because I'm a literature student, and he illustrated a LOT of classics, like Poe, Dante, and many, many others. As you know!

As to my own book, I guess I could already send you a note on what I'd like to have; but since I already asked two other artists, I wouldn't want anyone to work for "nothing", and since I don't have any money for the moment, I can't commission you!

But I'll keep you in mind, definitely!
